Hello,
I just bought for my sister a brand new asus laptop. Specifically its a F9DC. So it has an nvidia 8400M, Turion 64 x2, built in wireless and bluetooth, etc.
It also came with Vista which my sister can not use due to incompatability with programs she needs for work. So the first thing I did after turning it on and making sure it worked was wiping the harddrive and installing XP.
This set off some lovely situations with trying to find drivers since Asus only offers vista drivers for this specific laptop. I now have everything working exactly right excpet one thing. In device manager the "SM Bus Controller" is not setup right. I know this is part of the motherboard and folks on other sites suggested getting drivers from AMD. I downloaded the Turion processor drivers but that didn't change anything.
Does anyone know how to properly install the sm bus controller?
Thank you in advance for any help
