OK, so the move to NotebookForums is almost complete (pending a couple of final things needing taken care of). So, I want to take this time to let everyone know what is going on and where everything stands, as we've been eerily quiet about the whole thing.
The Move...
As some of you may know, MobileForce (the modified video drivers myself and Krayziepop author) are no longer affiliated with Tweaks R Us (now known as TweakForce). There are a few factors behind this, and I won't go into them here. MobileForce is now an official and full part of NotebookForums.com. This is where the drivers will be hosted and supported from here on out.
Krayziepop and myself are the Moderators for the NVIDIA ForceWare & NBF MobileForce Drivers section, so if you have any issue in this section, feel free to contact either of us, and we'll assist you in the best way we can.
The Drivers
Retired Drivers
With the move to NotebookForums, some of the previous MobileForce drivers you know are going to be put out to pasture (no longer available), including:
101.70 for Vista 32/64-Bit - An old driver, and while good in its time, has been replaced by much more worthy drivers. 158.45 for Vista 32-Bit - A fairly old driver, replaced by much more suitable drivers (see below). 163.44 for XP/Vista 32-Bit - This driver is still a good driver, but, again, it has been replaced by more optimized drivers (again, see below section). While we are retiring a couple of drivers, some of the "old" mainstays will be updated and ported forward into the NotebookForums MobileForce brand:
94.20 for XP 32-Bit - This driver is a hall-of-famer. STILL a solid performing driver today, MANY months after its release. This driver will be updated with newly optimized tweaks, repackaged, and re-released. 97.92 for XP 32-Bit - Again, just like 94.20, this driver is a hall-of-famer, bar none. Just like 94.20, this driver will be updated with newly optimized tweaks, repackaged, and re-released. New Drivers
As you can see above, ALL of the previous Vista MobileForce drivers have been scrapped. However, don't feel left out in the cold Vista users. We've got some new things coming up for you:
156.65 for Vista 32/64-Bit - This is the newest and most optimized TRULY MOBILE driver to come from NVIDIA. Its the 4th driver out there that has legitimate PowerMizer support, and is a very solid performing driver. We are not releasing a 156.65 driver for Windows XP, as several of our Beta Testers (myself included) have had some significant issues with them. It is unfortunate, as full PowerMizer support has been missing from Windows XP drivers as well since the 9x.xx drivers. 163.71 for XP 32/64-Bit - A very solid driver as well. Though lacking the full PowerMizer features of the 156.65 Mobile driver for Windows XP (read above), this is still a VERY solid performing driver, and will also mark the FIRST MobileForce XP 64-Bit release. This release replaces 163.44 for XP. 163.69 for Vista 32-Bit - Again, a solid driver, with optimizations for the latest games, but unfortunately lacks PowerMizer features. Unfortunately, because of a MAJOR boo-boo by NVIDIA, we couldn't just do a 163.71 XP AND Vista release. This release replaces 163.44 for Vista.
The Future...
The MobileForce team is stronger than ever, with fresh blood in the newly-reformed MobileForce BetaCircle (Beta Testing) so that the drivers can be tested thoroughly before they're released to the masses. With everyone's help, we hope to make MobileForce better than it's ever been before! I hope to make this year a great one for MobileForce, and with everyone's feedback and support, it will only get better and better!
