Ok Guys,
i have a problem with my alienware 7700.
While playing WoW my notbeook stardet to BEEP BEEP BEEEP every 2 seconds. Also the NUM and CAPS LOCK signs where blinking. I installed SpeedFan and saw that this always happens when im higher then 60 Celsius on ASPI. While i was on the desktop it stopt.. (temp went below 60 Celsius).
The strange thing is if i start with a cool notebook (shut off for the whole night) and hit FN + f2 it ALSO immidetly starts to BEEP and BLINK all the time... until i set fn+ f2 fan speed to normal.
Ok so i thoght im calling alienware support, since im still under warranty.
1. Call
Im telling them where my problem is... answer was to get compressed air and clean all my fans... and if it still occurs i should call them again. Ok so i clean all my fans and the inside of the notebook, especially the graphic card. (i did that before when i got beep things the first time...) OK 5 min supreme commander on low details and it starts again. Fn+ f2 problem stays also.
2. Call
I got a very nice support member. 1 hour call. First we tried inserting the battery and checking battery settings... nothing... then he thought the sound is very strange and mabye i just got an old bios wich couses the beeping, becouse 63 celsius isnt that hot for a 7700. Ok then we installed the new bios 1.00.05.
FN + f2 test first... Beep is gone.. BLINKING still exists. While playing ... Blinks like hell but the beeping is gone. So, for him the problem was solved, and if i get the beeping again i should call again... Well i askt about the blinking wich i never had before and we just shut off the alarm but the problem is still there! Answer was i should first play a bit and check if the beeping comes back and then call again..
Um okay... Isnt that a bit strange? What could be the problem? Im sitll thinking its the damn grapihc card. (just see my last problem post,http://www.notebookforums.com/showth...light=overheat , wich was never solved rly, when i called them on that problem in that thread they replaced the graphic card (btw im still thinking its the same card just "fixt" since i just saw that the sticker wich is between fan and chip and its cut.
Any Help? Any Ideas? Anything?
I was thinking of ordering just a damn new card (7950 go) and get rid of all the graphic jerking and everything... but well im not sure what the price on one is and if it rly stops the heating problem...
