Suggestions for a 17"

Hi guys,

A friend of mine is looking into getting a laptop. Here are his requirements:
17" screen (with at least 1680x1050 res)
Core 2 Duo
Dedicated GPU (he would like to play Oblivion)
Under $2000

Battery life and weight are not significant issues

Also, as we are college students and can get XP/Vista for $10 from the computer store, it is no big deal (almost preferable, actually) if it does not come loaded with an OS.

if this is his first laptop, ever, and first time using a 17 inch, tell him to get a 15.4 inch first, and if its too small for what his needs become later on, or are right now, then to sell it and get a 17 inch

if however hes had other laptops, Asus g2, Clevo has a few out, Sager has a few 17 inch models with high end parts for under 2k

Yeah he's had a laptop before and I think his reasoning behind getting a 17" is sound. Thanks for the suggestions!

hehe i hope that isnt just the only thing, there are plenty of USB powered speakers, thatd blow any 17 inch speaker system out teh water


id still go with Asus G2, i dig it
