I'm Sooooooooooo Bored - Page 6

I don't get the dig ghazgull013. They apoligized twice, and are gonna take it in again for repair. They assured the buyer they would do everything in their power to make it right, at the highest priority. This on behalf of the President of Alienware.

Man what do want? It's just a machine that isn't working rite...not the end of the world. Stuff breaks, give 'em a break.

Sorry you are going thru this hassle Spartan-117, know it's a drag.

Thanks Boyd. Saying sorry is one thing, but saying it on behalf of the President is another. And, computers do break. It's just unfortunate that I happen to own one of them...

In today's world where you can sue because your coffee is hot, it doesn't surprise me they have the letter worded that way. However, it is nice they sent him one back, and offered to do "everything in their power". They'll fix it or replace it, it just takes some time. Good luck Spartan!

They never repaired my problem. They just changed my video card and memory. I keep getting overheating ever since the repair. So, I'm going to send it back to get the fans fixed. I hope that your good news is more than your bad news...

I am still busy to write down every details about my case specifically. However, here will be a quick run down for it.

I received it for the third time and yet the problem persisted. Like i mentioned, I feel that I was unlucky and it is not anybody's fault. The only thing that I disappointed and hope Alienware can improve is the factory depot visit. The thing is at least they manage to recognize and duplicate the problem (or problems such as mine and Spartan's) but they could have done better. It takes a lot of customers time and patient waiting for their system on the depot. We would want the time and patient we spent worth it but if the problem isn't settled and still the same like before it was sent to the depot and that will be a waste of time.

However, right now I am the middle of
settlement where I will be offered the funds that I paid for my m9700 to configure anything from Alienware's site. So as for right now I am still in the middle of lots (and long) processes. I don't want to disappoint myself again so I won't be all excited for now. However, I do feel super glad and impress with Alienware's customer service and management which I feel really deserves their 5-star awards. The only thing is probably I wish I could just keep my m9700 and use it right now after multiple visit to depot. But if that doesn't settle, it must have another way in and Alienware has offered me that. Very looking forward to this and hope this will keep me as a happy Alienware customer and supporter forever.

ADDED: Hope and pray that this new product I will be getting won't be all problematic like my beloved soon-to-leave-me m9700. Hope they will take a good care of it. I hope my luck won't turn me down again for the 2nd time.

Hopefully you get your m9700 back der_red. If not, then, go for the m9750. Yeah, and hopefully it's not another lemon. But, we can see, that in the end, everything works out for the customer.

Actually m9700 is not on the site so my only options are m9750 or m5550. It's feel something to own the first SLi notebook in the market, but then having a better spec and color option doesn't hurt either.

alienware will be releasing a new m15" and a m17" computer sometime soon...

For those keeping up with my situation -

I received my 7700 today from the depot with the mobo replaced, and it works great. They didn't even wipe my hard drives. However, they did not have time to replace the panels that were scratched on the first trip to the depot, so I'll have to send it back later to have those replaced. der_red, good luck with your case, and I would strongly advise you take AW's offer and get a new computer, but as littlefrankus mentioned, new ones are on the horizon, so wait as long as you can....

Too bad I already ordered one today. The thing is, I see it this way. Even the new one on the rise, the price will be like premium. I will end up configuring a base system even without long-term money-wise investment. What I mean by that are best screen monitor and best cpu offered. As for others we can always buy later from Alienware for upgrade (ram, gpu, hdd, optic drive, etc). So I don't think I'll be able to configure a nice laptop with the funds that I have now. I wish I have not order and still wait cause we don't know what is the base price would be like. It might be somewhere 2099 like previous m9750 starting price which is quite a good deal OR somewhere like ALX premium price which is not on the site for now.
