Mine is coming back this Saturday. Hopefully I don't have to send it back for the fourth time in a short term (at least let it reach 1 year old for goodness sake).

It turns out that it was my RAM that was causing my notebook to have the sporadic falls in my frame-rates. All this time I thought that it was either the motherboard and the GPU.

atleast it was something easily fixable...

Unfortunately for me it failed. But, it's fixed now. Couldn't believe that the Ram made such a big impact on my gaming performance though.

yeah it can and its a hard thing to figure out whats going on...

If you have dual 7950 GTX go cards in sli and a sweet 2.33 C2D processor but only have 512mb of ram then there is no current game or very few recent games available that will play well at all. Sure while the frame rates are stable it will look beautiful but once it has to do a little bit of loading or quick action sequence you will be dead in the water. Ram makes one of the biggest differences behind CPU that your computer can have on overall system usage. Sorry to hear that your Ram went bad but did you get it fixed for free?

Samsung makes a broad spectrum of memory qualities from very good to economy.

AW uses more than one brand though, depending on what passes their internal certification and what's available at the time.

I've had corsair and patriot in my desktops. Not sure what's in my laptops...

It's true though, the cheapest economy memory that doesn't fail is better than the most expensive bad memory available...

I had a desktop that the hd's started dropping out from time to time. Thought it was bad sata ports or hd controller as the drives and cables were fine.

Sent it to AW and they found one bad stick of memory, replaced it and everything's been fine since. The system passed memtest every time...

It's issues like this that are hard to pin down that make the AW warranty really worth it. You can pull your hair out replacing the wrong part even when the diagnostics make sense...
