Sure while the frame rates are stable it will look beautiful but once it has to do a little bit of loading or quick action sequence you will be dead in the water. Ram makes one of the biggest differences behind CPU that your computer can have on overall system usage. Sorry to hear that your Ram went bad but did you get it fixed for free?
H*!! yeah man! I'm glad that I still have the warranty. So now I got a new a brand new video card and new memory, all for free!!. AW Rocks man!! I also got the "Alienwatcher" e-mail. My baby's coming home next week!I'm going to send it back, though. To upgrade my CPU. I think a 1.66Ghz CPU is a little slow for me games!! I'll probably extend my 1-year AW warranty as well.

How many watts is your sub? Btw, do you think that a 1.66Ghz C2D w/2 MB cache is a big difference from a 2.0Ghz C2D w/4 MB cache? I don't quite understand what "cache" means?

My laptop received at 11 am Eastern time. So far acting flawlessly. Glad they did it right this time.

That's good to hear. Aw came through for you. Do the games run any better than they use to run?

I am actually in the middle of busy-ness so I haven't tried anything heavy yet. I hope it will run smoother or at least par with previous experience that I had with this system.

Plus, I just got it like 2 hours ago. Need to install all the works stuff first before entertainment stuff.

Hopefully I won't have to call AW rep at least for the rest of the year.

i dont even have a clue how many watts it is but it will shake the walls... the 2.0 vs the 1.66 is a pretty big jump in processor speed like the 2.33 to the 2.0 ...

RAM has a high fail rate FYI. No matter who the manufacture is. But then again Samsung makes lots of chips/parts for many manufactures that just slaps there name on top of it. But yeah no matter who RAM has one of the highest fail rates for computers.

Cache is an important factor in cpu. The bigger the cache the faster your system will be. I don't know to tell u technically but it parts of CPU where it's like bridge so bigger capacity meaning the more it can receives and delivers (don't flame me I ain't tech head).
cache is like a small amount of memory which assists the cpu in certain executions

i would suggest a 2.0 ghz or better i dont even know why they sell the 1.66 in the m9750 its not going to play games really that well...

Ok right now I received an error message the same like I did before my system went to factory 3 weeks ago for cpu change and mobo change a week ago.

They have duplicated the same error 2 times in a row within 3 weeks this time, but still I received almost the same identical error message. I am really really upset as for right now.

what error is coming up...and what is open when this error occurs...
It happen randomly. First time was restarting until it doesn't on at all. Second time was quitting programs by itself and now this. It says something like error x0x0000007 memory something2. I took a screen shot of it for future reference and proof. Sadly enough, I already went thru the same exact questions 3 weeks ago.

I was hoping it is fixed. This is awkward. I'm off to sleep. Hope Alienware will have another good excuse by tomorrow.

i have that error on my desktop before i think it has to deal with either a software issue or an OS issue... mine would mainly do it with internet explorer crashing on me...
from what i can see if it ends with 07 then it seems that it may be a coprocessor error...

look at this webpage and see if this matches your error...

I'm definitely upgrading to the 2.0ghz then. The 1.66Ghz just feels a little slow to me, and this is on an m5550!
Hopefully der_reds problem can be solve by a hotfix or something like that...

My previous problem was about the processor since BSODs were coming up (while my system reboot by itself over and over again, I couldn't even do stuff). Second time it quits program by itself and some errors.

The thing is, Alienware checked my system at depot and the problem persist, and it's not like this is the 1st time; up to this point, my system has been sent to the depot twice in the last 3 weeks. Having a problem not even a day after receiving doesn't seem like they are doing a good job at the depot.

I don't care what is the problem is but I need a working system (especially when the problem is recognized and "repaired", twice), I don't even have the appetite to game anymore, all I wanted is a working system so that I can work with especially when I am really in need of it right now. Sending system back and forth patiently has reach it's limit. This is way too much to be patient with.

and last time I called Alienware I almost cried, as this the only system that I have to work with. It's pretty dumb to buy an expensive laptop when you know you couldn't afford (maintenance and stuff) but I loved Alienware. It was my dream machine. I shud have went with Acer and DIY desktop. Dealing with all these nonsenses does not worth it at all. So probably it's not Alienware to blame, probably it was my decision back then.

Those who bare with me know that I was being soft and patient with the issues rose 3 weeks ago. I wish I am a more patient person.
