E1705/M1710/M1730 FRAPS Benchmarks Thread

Looking to get some IN-GAME benchmarks with FRAPS, and see what different people's rigs are doing. Why are the M1730 guys allowed? Simple...so we can see what the new M1730 can do, and see if it is worth slapping another $3,000 to $5,000 down on the table.

RULES:
1- To rule out as many variables as we can, we should all use FRAPS for benchmarking. F-11 is the default key to start a benchmark.
2- Tell us about your rig. Be specific about hardware, OS, clockspeeds, and drivers. Having that info in your signature is even better.
3- Cut and paste straight from the FRAPS log that is created in C:\Fraps. Be sure to specify what resolution you're using because FRAPS does not document this.
4- Specify what graphical settings you are using for that game. Saying 'Full Graphical Settings' means that you have every graphic option for that game maxed out, turned on, etc. In Bioshock you could say 'Full Graphical Settings, but Dynamic Lighting is Off'. In Oblivion it would be nice if you specify outdoors or indoors. You get the point.
5- TURN V-SYNC OFF. If your scores are pegged at 30FPS or 60FPS, that's nice, but tells us nothing. If you say 'Full Graphical Settings', we are to assume that V-Sync is off. You don't need to mention it.

It is obvious to me that this is not as foolproof as an ORB link. People can edit the text file to say whatever they want it to. Please just be honest.

What I was thinking is that people could use whatver resolution they wanted so there would be a wider variety of comparisons.

Maybe people have said "F**K BENCHMARKS!", and are actually playing thier video games...

These boards are just not what they used to be especially back in the gen2 days and early 1710/1705 days. now with the 1730 out and not to many interested in it because of the lack of a Uber card/cards things are have pretty much come to a screeching halt.
Im sure once the 8800s or whatever the new gen of mobile cards hit that people are actually excited about, things will go crazy again .

I'd suggest adding a few more bits of info to your benchmarks.

OS
DirectX mode (9 or 10)
Driver Version
GPU Core/Memory Clock

Yeah, I was kind of insinuating that when I said to "Tell us about your rig".

Hey there!
Now I did not have any of those games installed, but I did just get the Orange Box, so here are some stats on it. Yes I know the Source Engine is older than others, but it can still prove useful as many of the benchmarks could be comparative to other Source games, I would assume. Anywho, here they are:
Stats: Dell Inspiron E1705, T5300, 2GB 533, 7900GS Voltmod + OC @ 600 Core 800 Mem via ATiTool, WUXGA 1920x1200, 100GB 7200RPM, Windows XP 32Bit Avg of 23 Processes running, Driver: 84.63 standard Nvidia driver. DirectX 9.0c Latest.

Portal:
Frames (6078), Time (219915ms), Min (10), Max (43), Avg (27.638)
Resolution: 1920 x 1200, Everything Maxed.
Level: 18 Advanced Mode

Team Fortress 2
Frames (3011), Time (109260ms), Min (7), Max (61), Avg (27.558)
Resolution: 1920 x 1200, Everything Maxed.
Level: cp_dustbowl 24 Players.

World in Conflict
Frames (616), Time (75868ms), Min (3), Max (17), Avg (8.119)
Resolution: 1920 x 1200, Everything Maxed (for DX9)
Level: WiC In-game benchmark.
*Note: This is the latest and greatest in gaming graphics, it looks incredible but damn do you need a good system to run it maxed. I really want to see how the 7950s and the 8700s handle this.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Demo
Frames (51628), Time (1578697ms), Min (10), Max (61), Avg (32.703)
Resolution: 800 x 600, Everything Maxed. Note: There appears to be a bug not letting you switch resolutions, as the game effectively crashes when you attempt to do so.
Level: First (only one in demo).
*Note: This game, despite my playing it at 800 x 600 looks ridiculously good, its unbelievable. Definitely try this even if you disliked the previous Call of Duty games, the demo costs you nothing.

Btw: TurbodTalon: I envy that E1705 Would you personally say the 7950 was worth it? Also thanks for all the great stuff you've done for the E1705 users on this board!

Thank ya kindly for the words of encouragement, and the benchmarks. You shouldn't envy my rig, all I did was buy the parts and install them. The 7950GTX is a beast, and still hails as the best mobile GPU you can buy. My native resolution is 1440x900, and I saw a huge difference up from the 7900GS. You seem to be running at 1920x1200, and I'm betting your 7900 is having a hard time. You'd see big gains between the two cards at that resolution.

Yeah, with this screen I almost need a 7950 a this point, but i kinda want to sell my E1705 and get a M1730...almost hehe.

I'd wait to see what the M1730 can do over clocked before I opened my wallet. In stock condition the current stuff is keeping up with it no problem.

Yeah, very true. Lots of ppl say it looks ugly, i gotta say tho I like the look of the m1730. I dunno lol, i am addicted to LED lights tho :P

No, don't get me wrong, the M1710 is f**king SEXY, but it's not putting up the numbers I thought it would.
