What 'You People' are you referring to exactly? You're turning this into something other than a technical discussion. I'm bored by you. Anyhow. You've got a valid point, Solapathy, I guess the two can't be compared. Do you think we can expect any further optimization?
i would say in time nvidia will release some drivers ie today 169.04 that will give abit of performance boost, but doubt we will ever see like a 20fps boost across the board from a patch or drivers ,which im sure alot of people are hoping for . from what ive read though the game isnt really taking advantage of extra cores of cpus, so if thats true and they can tap into some of that potentia,l we might see some increases.

God you are a clever one aren't you. Perhaps I should try and get on your good side before you'll even consider my point, then again I couldn't care less about you or if i 'bore' you. You certainly live up to how you look in your avatar, why don't you go check your PM's.

Check out what this guy just PM'd me. Nothing like a good old fashioned anonymous flaming. Apparently he's highly offended by overweight people. You gonna shoot me there, Phil? "Hey, I was just wondering if its hard being a fat ignorant asshole, or if you can kind of just get by without trying? I mean like, if someone makes a point, and you ignore it and take offense due to your stupidity, do you always acknowledge the point later one made by someone else? Or do they have to be someone you like? Thanks for your time. Phill." However, boredom continues to consume me. Dude, post some benchmarks.

Yes I think there will be further optimizations that were not included in the demo, certified drivers, as well as tweaking guides out within a week of the release on the 14th.

My laptop played it alright, my desktop played it a lot better for obvious reasons. Just like any game that is initially released, there will be fixes & tweaks. The real beta testing happens once the product is released & you have millions of people doing every possible, inconceivable thing with the game. I have no illusions that this game will play like a champ on my laptop, it's not designed to. The game is designed for the 8XXX & upcoming 9XXX GPU's.

No offense, but if people could play the latest & greatest game at max settings on a laptop in such a tiny form factor, there would be no need for desktops lol.

While doing some benchmarks for a friend, I realized that even at medium settings the game is gorgeous. And at medium settings the frame rate is in the 40's. True that. Laptops are underpowered. Hopefully when/if the M1730 gets those 8800's in SLI, the playing field will even out a bit. I wanted a laptop for portability at work and school. It gets the job done.

I get 50fps on low at 1900x1200.

and 15-20fps at 1900x1200 at medium

Well, mines waiting to be picked up by dell,I got sick of game driver issues with dell seemingly very relaxed about fixing them,so they can have it back.

Hehe,at least I can say I tried SLI now,and doubt I will try it again, its a pity really,as I really liked everything else.

Crysis @ 800x600 here I come

I love the m1730. but the sli that they have doesn't do it fer me either. and sli is proprietary for drivers... that sux ass!

i would rather a single 8800m or 89xxx etc.

hey gerry, what's next?

I upgraded the shit out of mine.. literally. now it is a fully functional m1710.

I am thinking about a quad core Clevo d901c.

dual 7950's or the dual 88xx or single 88x...

I will see how painful it is to play some of the newer games on the vostro, and then see if the updated 1730 is a single card [seems unlikely]

Maybe a desktop box with an 8800GT,I can guarantee it won't involve SLI though......I just want to use it and can't be bothered with the extra hassles SLI brings.

seem to do better?
Shit, it's pretty playble at 1900x1200 at medium.

but fruck does my card get hooot.

92 degrees.

Yeah, I noticed that my card gets pretty damn hot too. Where did you get the 169.04 driver? Laptopvideo2go doesn't list it for XP. GOW does the same shit Oblivion used to do...frame rate goes to shit from time to time for no apparent reason.
Hey TurbodTalon, what program are you using that gives you those nice benchmark reports? And I'm using the latest MobileForce 169.04 drivers and I haven't had any problems whatsoever with GoW slowing down. I made sure to download the MS Live app outside of GoW to prevent that bug, and I also have all the latest Windows updates and patches.

I use FRAPS. It will display your FPS in real-time, take FPS benchmarks, take screenshots, and record in-game video. There are others, but FRAPS is the best from what I've gathered. Just Google it. GoW gave me some warning saying that the game will eventually crash with my current drivers, and offered to update them. Every driver I've used other than Dell's crash on me. That's frustrating when you haven't saved recently.
Hmm I'll have to check it out. Whats annoying is you have to be signed into Live to save. Now thats not necessarily a problem for me because of my wireless high speed connection, but if I ever want to play somewhere where there is no signal or connection, I'm gonna be screwed...

I agree. Microsoft can lick my nizzles. They've got their fingers in everything it seems.
