Well ZZ, you know from dealing with me that I always have to have my GFX settings jacked way up, which is my problem, plus I'm using old-ass drivers. Secondly, I think you initially have to do the log-in bullshit, because I just played the game from my current save position with no internet connection. The game is amazing.
Yeah, I like the desktop real estate of the WUXGA but I would like it to be WSXGA when I game. 1440 x 900 still looks very good and comes in way less taxing than WUXGA. If I get an external monitor 1440 x 900 then I could have the best of both worlds.
This thread wasn't to start a pissing contest. If they could beat our shit, they'd be in here with some numbers to prove it. I doubt anyone will show. I want to see what those 8800's can do when/if they ever show up.
It's official, Crysis was not optimized at all from the demo. Maybe I'll try it again in a couple of years when there's laptop hardware that can handle it. On the other hand, Gears of War runs beautifully, so I'm gonna run through that.
I forced 4x AA, V-sync, 4x AF, and High Quality in the control panel. Runs at a constant 25FPS with this stuff enabled. This game confuses me...the draw distance is shit, everything is jagged, and it's still taxing me Crysis style. It's good ole' arcade-like shooting though, and I'm having a blast. Honestly though, I'd force V-sync and call it a day.
