Diefool, I had my own tweaked autoexec, designed for more eye candy but less resolution. I shared with Turbod and he shared with me your settings and mentioned he made ajdustments too. With your config I can run the game at 1680x1050 (my native external LCD res.) at decent framerates. However what I don't understand is when you say that these are very high graphics. However, I don't know what modification TT made to your settings. First, the vegetation is static (q_ShaderVegetation = 0). Enabling it is a real perforance hit, at lest 5-6 fps, but the immersion is uncomparable. Second, you say "very high textures". However I see r_UsePOM = 0 in your config file. Using Parallax Occlusion Mappping gives a totally new look to textures, and the performance hit is less considerable. Third, there is the shaders, especially HDR. We know that shaders quality is directly proportional to image quality, and performance loss. That's where we have to make compromise. Enabling sunbeams (usually reserved to ultra-high)gives an edge though, without ruining the performance. With your settings only, I get about 30fps at 1680x1050, which is way better than my 15 with my own settings (I couldn't run at that resolution anyway). However I miss the moving vegetation and a few eye candy. . What I did is I inserted your settings after mine so that they override some of my tweaks, and I get more eye candy, but it's still static. Then I set q_ShaderVegetation = 1,r_UsePOM=-1 (sunbeams are already enebaled in my settings) and I get a very nice quality/performance compromise at 1680x1050, I'd say an average 22. So what I'll do is build more and more from it, to raise this number a bit, unless the upcoming patch does it for us. Cheers guys.
