i did switch to my other sudo 7900gtx (fx2500) to see how it played. and it played the game like shit.

so I am sticking with the card I got. to me my 7900gtx is noticably better than my fx2500 in terms of stability.

I didn't change drivers though, i just kept the same 169.04 on when I did the swap

Did you play around with your drivers settings under the Nvidia control panel ? Oh, and are you using NBF's or Laptopvideo2go's release ?
i only use lv2g.

no I didn't bother. most drivers to me atleast are not that different. i mean they release like 3 a week sometimes.

i notice no diff from 163.44------169.04. I thought I did. but then again. I think its partially bs.
Well, I'm using NBF's. Might try the other.
People are praising 13 17 21 releases, but they don't o/c.
I'm thinking of reflashing my 7950GTX with o/c speeds.
there is not much diff between releases maybe a little here and there. but really not much diff.

stick with 1 set of drivers that works good and stay with it.

you might try lv2g's 163.44 and 163.67 also 169.04

I used 163.44 for the longest time and never ever had problems with it.
thats the only way that I oc. I just flash the speeds I want
post #287 of 494
What I'll do is bench at stock speed with my current 169.04, then laptopvideo2go's, then laptopvideo2go's 169.21
I'll report here if there was any gain.
I found the benchies the highest on 163.44 for 3dmark myself

I scored 6150 on 3dmak 06 650/750

Yeah, but for this specific purpose I'll rely on Crysis in-house GPU bench. I like it very much.

Hey guys, I tried 3 different Forceware versions, at stock speeds. The numbers speak for themselves.

there is not much a difference worth caring about there at all

lmao like 20% of 1 frame.

were those laptopvideo 2go.

just for shits and giggles.

savat, I am at work but do you want to try 163.44 and tell me the frames you get benching crysis?

I got totally good results with that driver.

I am just currious.

I always thought it was hogwash all these driver changes.

they are all the bloody same

It was a joke, read my previous post about Oblivion tweaking.
this thread is about FRAPS no>?

tweaking yields better framerates.

for me anyways

I liked the game, I quit playing halfway thru as soon as it became as I like to call "medal of honor"

I hate games that are scripted.

crysis is scripted but the beginning is soo open-ended in a way that you can do what you want.

when the alien B.S came into it. I lost interest.

I am not a tru gamer in a sense I play most games for 5 minutes.

funny thing is,. I own tons of games and purchase them all the time

oblivion I played for months because of it's open-endedness.

Crysis played for 2 weeks.

all the others i get bored of because they are too predicable. and you have to follow what the game dictates. invisible walls scripted enemies.

like MOH. you can sit there and snipe for hours but if you don't progress to the next scripted point... they won't stop spawning.

Counterstrike I liked for Multi-player.

when your dead, your dead.

that's the only game I played for a long time --- 4 years.

Yep, they were laptopvideo2go's. I'll try 163.44 perhaps tonight.
