Are you talking about Clive Barker's Jericho? I looked on IGN.com and it got a pretty low score of 5.6 out of 10.

Are there mod packs, like with Oblivion, that you can get to replace Far Cry game textures with high-res ones?
yes look for the farcry HDR mod

I found a mod for 64 bit systems that was converted to work with 32 bit systems. It replaces a bunch of textures and makes the game look way better. Problem is that it just isn't Crysis. I can't blow up buildings or anything. I am running through Crysis again instead.
yup, i agree.

I just use crysis as benchmarking now.

i hope they make some good mods for it , or other games based on its engine

ne1 play gears of war yet?
OK, I dual booted Vista and XP. Here is what I got for Crysis in XP:

DX9 SLI, 800x600, AA=No AA, Vsync=Disabled, 32 bit test, FullScreen, Medium Settings, No O/C, Win XP
2007-12-15 23:04:43 - crysis
Frames: 1963 - Time: 35106ms - Avg: 55.916 - Min: 35 - Max: 79

DX9 SLI 1900x1200, AA=No AA, Vsync=Disabled, 32 bit test, FullScreen, Medium Settings, No O/C, Win XP
2007-12-15 23:05:58 - crysis
Frames: 1974 - Time: 86735ms - Avg: 22.758 - Min: 18 - Max: 29

For comparison purposes, here is what I got with Vista:

DX9 SLI, 800x600, AA=No AA, Vsync=Disabled, 32 bit test, FullScreen, Medium Settings, No O/C
2007-12-10 21:40:37 - Crysis
Frames: 1939 - Time: 39425ms - Avg: 49.181 - Min: 28 - Max: 72
DX9 SLI 1900x1200, AA=No AA, Vsync=Disabled, 32 bit test, FullScreen, Medium Settings, No O/C
2007-12-10 21:42:04 - Crysis
Frames: 1966 - Time: 97822ms - Avg: 20.097 - Min: 14 - Max: 28

Looks like a 10% penalty with Vista.

Thanks for posting the Benchmarks.

I am Curious to see what your 8700's can do when they are OC'd. at Higher Res.

Can you post some Benchmarks @1600x900? and 1600x1050?

and 1440x900?

that would be great.

You guys are into/done all the current games. I guess I'm a "casual gamer'

What's the best, in order? I'll eventually get them all, its just a question of time. I am still happily playing Bioshock, and gonna get COD4 next

What's best after that? crysis (thought it ran crap on laptop?), gears of war etc etc
I just like FPS type, tried oblivion and zzzzzzz

Frames: 2590 - Time: 43272ms - Avg: 59.854 - Min: 34 - Max: 97

800x600 windows xp 169.04 standard no tweaks medium shadows/shaders all other settings to HIGH

2007-12-15 11:16:41 - Crysis
Frames: 697 - Time: 28609ms - Avg: 24.363 - Min: 16 - Max: 35

600/700 clocks this time.

1900x1200 standard (no tweaks) Medium shadows/shaders all other settings to HIGH.

here you can see when i OC to 650/750, it really makes a diff.

COD4 is an awesome game, but Crysis is the end all at the moment. I would play COD4 after you were done with Crysis. With your current setup, all settings to medium, you can run 25 - 30 fps the entire game @ 1440x900. If you're willing to do some tweaking, you can run at higher res and still maintain a good frame rate. Crysis is just an amazing game, then entire world is interactive and you can choose several different ways to execute any enemy. It will tax your laptop, but it's very playable. There's really no tweaking that doesn't make the system suffer elsewhere visually.

1440x900, NO TWEAKS, No AA, No Vsyc. All settings to High accept Shadows and Shaders. 650/820 on the GPU.

Diefool, what tweaks are you running to get those numbers with a lower GPU/clocks and higher resolution? No foliage/no shadows or what?

No way. Bioshock, Crysis, Gears of War, COD4, than all other crappy games. I only mention Bio first because you're already playing it.
