E1705/M1710/M1730 FRAPS Benchmarks Thread - Page 18

post #341 of 494
I haven't been running any tweaks lately. and those last benchmarks have been with no tweaks.

here is my Final Autoexec that I have finnished.

-- Shader settings
e_sky_update_rate = 0.12
e_max_entity_lights = 4
e_ram_maps = 0
e_vegetation_use_terrain_color = 0
e_sky_type = 1
q_ShaderFX = 1
q_ShaderGeneral = 0.25
q_ShaderHDR = 0
q_ShaderGlass = 0
q_ShaderMetal = 0
q_ShaderShadow = 1 change to 0 for better fps
q_ShaderVegetation = 0
r_EnvTexUpdateInterval = 0.1
r_TexturesFilteringQualit = 2
r_Beams = 3
r_BeamsMaxSlices = 100
r_BeamsDistFactor = 1 change to .3 for better fps
r_usepom = 1 change to 0 for better fps

-- Shadow settings
e_gsm_lods_num = 3
e_shadows_max_texture_size = 1024 change to 256 for better fps
e_shadows_cast_view_dist_ratio = 1 change to 0.3 or 0.2 for better fps
r_shadow_jittering = 1 change to 0 for better FPS

shadows and shaders really effect FPS.

with them tweaked you can achieve maximum FPS without losing too much crap.

cuz some candy you can live without

this is basically what I gave you before.

these are the basics of shadows/shaders.

from here tweaking these two things could make the difference of PLUS or MINUS 10-20 FPS. yes this is true
post #342 of 494
if you want to really gain some FPS, take the shaders down, then tweak the shadows so they are their but not using up too much FPS.

also you don't need usepom.

there are some blood/ragdoll mods so the body's flop around after they are dead too it's pretty cool. nade the dead, lol.

Are you sure that's with no tweaks? You must have the world's most powerful 7900...
post #344 of 494
i just re-did my tests.

you were right.

I was running all medium @1900x1200 and 800x600.

I thought I was lying to myself to a while there. I was sooo sure.

when I tweak shaders/shadows I can run very high.

but not with those shaders cranked.
post #345 of 494
Try 800x600 all medium settings and see what you get.

i just uploaded a frap video to youtube. lol, it's like 10 seconds long.

i gotta find a better way to make vids.

I'll try the other resolutions today or tomorrow. But I did try some benchmarking with UT3. I used the following command line to run it, after I preset up the graphics I wanted: "C:\\Program Files\\Unreal Tournament 3\\Binaries\\UT3.exe" WAR-Serenity?numplay=24?timelimit=3?automatedperftesting=1 –unattended –novsync –fixedseed –CaptureFPSChartInfo=1 –nomoviestartup I got this from this site. Ok, here are the request resolutions. I could not get the 8700Ms overclocked usint RivaTuner. Don't know if it is the 169.09 driver or RivaTuner working with the SLI config. I'll play around more later.

I'm in the 'Recovery' section, not going into any buildings during the benchmarks. Can someone provide a bench for those two resolutions in the same level? There's no reason I should be 10fps behind the pack.

1600x900
2007-12-16 13:43:14 - Crysis
Frames: 1407 - Time: 36767ms - Avg: 34.268 - Min: 28 - Max: 52

650/750 OC ALL MEDIUM SETTINGS.

in the recovery section going into the huts. smashing the huts. jumping down the cliff behind boat house and swiming down the side of cliff then climbing back up to huts.

1440x900
2007-12-16 13:51:57 - Crysis
Frames: 1890 - Time: 53232ms - Avg: 35.505 - Min: 26 - Max: 61 ---------------going into a few huts smashing them and then doing what I did above.

Frames: 1093 - Time: 30882ms - Avg: 35.393 - Min: 24 - Max: 49 -----------not going into the huts and just walking around outside the recovery area.

i dunno, I think my best FPS is 1600x900. it's what I have always came back to. I get the best results from it.

Mikla if you want to Overlcock your 8700's you have to flash unlocked ROMS to it.

if you havent done this you can change the speeds and overclock with nibitor and nvflash with dumping each cards rom , changing the speeds and then nvflash.

you can use a USB bootable flash drive with nvflash on it and the roms.

Doesnt 1600x900 look stretched in some ways. I can only stand looking at 1027x768, 1280x1024,1600x1200 and 1920x1200. All other resolutions look awakard or stretched

Same w/ you guys or am I just the worlds biggest girl?
post #354 of 494
1600x900 looks fine. it's a 16:10 resolution. 1600x900, 16:10
post #355 of 494
how long did it take you guys to throw in those new vid cards?
post #356 of 494
I use: Crysis Benchmark Tool With the demo version of the game. That way I know my FPS is consistant from one bench to the next.

I just hit F11 as soon as the game starts to benchmark in FRAPS.

I find this highly odd, but your numbers do the talking. Maybe there's something I'm overlooking.

messing around with Geometric Delta Clocks.

I am happy with my resluts . I think I did an OC of 625/750 flashed with a geometric DELTA of 25. so my Geo clock will kick in when in a 3d Aplication to 650.

with the same results as a straight OC of 650/750

I monitored the results with RIVA TUNER>

it appears that My temp is lower too. so my OC doesn't have to be 650 I can use 625 and get 25mhz more with delta and achieve more or less the same performance.
