E1705/M1710/M1730 FRAPS Benchmarks Thread - Page 25

Just OC'd my card for the first time.

Did it with STALKER. Used 1280x1024 MAX settings all the eye candy on with 600/700 clock. I was in the level I consider the worst, lost of shading and shadows, the one where you enter the tunnel and bloodsuckers plague the area. . Usually when I get here it drops to the 20's with normal coclks, but the upwards clolcks of 100 each yielded about 10 more FPS.

Frames: 2350 - Time: 69485ms - Avg: 33.820 - Min: 2 - Max: 46

Im interested to see what 600/800 would do.

My temps peak were
CPU-73
GPU-83 (with offset of 8 degrees)

Still staying pretty cool ghaz, did overclocking increase the temp much.

Nice FPS increase from a pretty mild overclock.

Its a pity "clear sky" has been delayed,I hope their not going to start delaying everytime it gets within a couple of weeks of the listed release date.

Yea it did stay fairly cool, hopefully teh AS5 is doing its job. I took it to 600/800 but it started artifacting so i lowered the clocks. Im going to try it again, see if I can find the sweet spot for stalker so it doesnt artifact. Yea i really want Clear Sky, they better stop with these dalays. They are noe at Q2 2008. If I see 'Q3 2008' I will pull my hair out. But I can be patient, GSC had to cut out alot of content from SoC from pressure from THQ to release it. I think Clear Sky will be what GSC had originally intended Stalker to really be.

Just a comparison of a few games with SLI enabled and disabled

Faster ones are obviously with sli enabled,I took great care to do exactly the same thing with each run so to minimize any errors

Make sure you tell us your settings gerry and the resolution you used.

Im most interested in the stalker benchmark
post #486 of 494
The Stalker benches were at 1920x1200 and every setting on or at max except vertsync, same with bioshock and far cry.I did do a couple of BMP screenshots of the stalker settings but are too large to post apparently.

The Crysis settings were as I posted above, and the witcher was at 1920x1200 everything on max except no shadows,1xAF,no AA.

I probably wasn't in the most demanding part of stalker, but I was more interested in the comparison between SLI and non-SLI

Do you have a particular part of stalker you would like me to FRAP?

Good work Jerry. I guess I was wrong in that other thread, but I would swear that my machine rns smoother in single card mode. there would only be one way to know for sure, I will have to run somem test also..

haha no thats ok. BTW if you try to upload images I find that BMP have trouble. For the easiest and most convenient save images as JPEG, all the major uploading sites seem to take nicely to them over BMP images. Why, only god knows Nice benches, thanks for the info

Just wondering to anyone with a FX 2500/3500 7900/7950GTX whats is your card overclocked to?

Stalker seems to lock up on me/ artifact at like 630/730

I know the safe mark is like 600/800 and this is just slightly past it. Could it be my video driver Im using (84.63-nvidia.com)

Perhaps try the 169.04 driver for OC'ing better?

Or do i need to make my clock 800 and no 730?

Hi Ghaz. I can't tell with my 7950GTX, but with my former 7900GS Stalker was the game I used for benchmarking and artifacting purposes and anything above 740 (RAM) would yield artifacts.

Thanks Savat,

Ill look more into it.

Saw this old thread from jerry's post on sli/non sli

I settled for reducing the resolution on stalker; I actually prefer it like this

1280x800
object dynamic lighting
quality max (for the toggliing that does in advanced tab), with NPC flashlights on

I haven't tweaked anything else but i find it runs very fast ~60fps using fraps and for me is great game experience. I like the game, its one I'll play intermittently over a long period

*I ahd to reload it from scratch and only have v 1.0001 when started playing;
for me it runs better and I don't want to start again, so not going to patch it

Hopefully you'll give us an update with your new M6300
