I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop and it was running just fine. Just 2 weeks ago, my wear level was at approx 10% and I could get around 2 hrs battery life. Now, my battery life drops to about 40 mins. I checked the wear level and it says my battery is at 73% wear. What is happening? How can the battery just die almost overnight like this? I dont use my battery much and only do a full discharge occasionally. Ive already tried running my computer with the BIOS loaded and fully draining the battery, then recharging it, but my wear level is still at 73%. It seems strange to me that a perfectly functioning battery would suddenly decay so quickly in such a short period of time. What do you guys think is going on?
I heard something about putting the battery in the freezer, then charging it up again to rejuvenate it. Any other tips what I can try out first before buying a new battery?
