My 3dmark 06 scores werent very good. I only got 6506 for my score where as the reviews are getting 8000+...

However, this was just using dell drivers and nothing tweaked....

I would hate to see 3dmark in vista!! i hate vista!! its terrible.... im sorry enought said! lol

What can i say im jealous.... i want a M1730

i thought the 1-2 reviews were fakered.

we will see i guess in the coming months. but user reviews are the ones that we go by.

and vista sux.

6506 is what we all expected. more like 2 7900gs like in an AW, or unoc'd of course. (more like what they truely preform like.)

8800M GS is just the old working name of the 8700M GT SLI before NVIDIA realized that giving the 8800 label to a card with a 128-bit memory bus would be retarded.

cards.

So I'd assume a single GeForce Go 7800 GTX is better than the SLI setup of the 8700m?

At least this is what it seems to be, considering the GeFroce Go GTX has a 256-bit bus...

I think the 8700 Sli performs very well. I got good 3dmark 06 scores
post #18 of 33
Yeah I didn't really think a single GeForce Go 7800 GTX would be necessarily better than a GeForce 8700M SLI setup. It's just that people were saying it wasn't so good so I was kinda wondering...

As for 3DMark06, what were your scores, Prog? Were you running it under XP or Vista?

I've heard from several people that 3DMark06 isn't optimized well for Vista and DX10 hence the lower scores if you try it that route.

I dunno if you bumped the res high enough to saturate both buses and eliminate the CPU difference, I could see an OC'd 7800 GTX beating a SLI 8700M. Granted they would probably both run at sub 10 fps lol.

Problem is 7800 GTX is only single link so max res is 1920x1200. I bet if you gave them the same CPU and motherboard and gave them both dual link outputs and a 30" 2560x1600 monitor the 7800 GTX would win...
