Price increase area 51m

About 2 months ago the area 51m was cheaper by about $400 dollars. When will the price go back down like it was 2 months ago? The price for my configuration right now is too much to pay and the price increase again today by about $100 dollars. I dont want to wait too long to by a notebook.

FYI, I'm guessing that you are looking at the 16.1" Screen. About $330 of that increase is on the screen. It went from $337 to like $667 because of ..... shortage I believe.

Edit 1 - Make that $337 to $673 for $336, I guess they didn't feel right doubling the price of the screen To answer your question, I don't think anyone really knows when or if they will lower the price of the screen back down.

One other thing to keep in mind. If you wait any longer, like by the end of the month. You can probably expect another price increase. The 9700 GPU is supposed to come out by the end of the month, and I can't imagine that will happen without a price increase.

A 20$ price increase maybe... They like to keep those within a 180-200$ range, and I think they charge 190$ for the 9600.

EDIT: There is no 100$ price increase, at least not when you set the price to Canadian $...

alienware is a pretty fuxored up company if they plan to keep increasing the prices on their products instead of decreasing or updating hardware...cause thats how all other computer companies work (except for apple)

u offer faster hardware for the same prices or u decrease the prices...thats how ur supposed to do business, ive never heard of a computer product costing more 5 months after its release

Prices increase when supply decreases, AW has a shortage of things like 16-inch screens and wireless cards...so the people willing to pay can have them and those willing to wait can do so until the supply catches back up and prices fall again. The only thing I've seen change price at AW is the 16-inch screen.

It's fine with me. The value of my laptop keeps increasing according to the Alienware site

Well, not really, but I can dream.
