Hi all,

I got my I6000 replaced to the new I1520 from Dell.

However they gave me Intel Core2 Duo T5250 Processor...and also The N-vidia Geforce 8400m Gs 128MB DDR2 video card.

I have a few quesetions...

Can i buy a new processor from Dell ie the T7500 and put it in place of T5250..

and also can i change my video card to Nvidia Geforce 8600m 256MB DDR3?

or can i ask i customer care reps to upgrade my processor and video card and pay the extra charges?

I would like some sugessions on these...

PS: I still have not received my replacement laptop and the replacement was finalised just today on the phone. If i can get a reply from some experts here i would go ahead and do the necessary...

thanx

They would not upgrade me nor let me change the replacement system. Yes you can buy an upgraded processor. Proc does not need to be from dell, any socket p processor will work (do not get a socket m processor). It's worth noting that the 5250 is probably faster than your old pentium-m anyway...

Yes, you can also upgrade the video card. You have to get it from dell (or ebay maybe but is has to be a dell video card). the 8600gt runs $145 plus shipping and tax.
