Crysis requirements released! - Page 2

So far, there do appear to be errors with the beta that need fixing. Optimization at the release of the beta....well it sucks. Look at CoD4, it has fantastic optimizing and looks in comparison almost as good as crysis, and it uses far less system resources. Crysis needs to step up optimization.

3 Year old systems my ass.

Hey,you can run max settings at 640x320 on a 3 year old system and itll play fantastically Of course at this setting I think the Original Doom would give it a run for its money, one because it fits on floppy disks and two its much easier to pirate

noooooooo...dont say that...the videos look too awesome and i should be able to run everything at max...yay

I hate to say it, but so far from the beta I can tell you that it's pretty much a piece of shit. I do enjoy playing jump the hovercrafts though.

nooooo....shhhh....it will rox when it comes out
post #26 of 40
Hope all you want, I know I have it pre-ordered so I hope as well...I just can't say that I believe it will be good when it does arrive. Unless they lied about it being optimized at the time of the beta, they were smoking LOADS of crack when they thought it would run on a 3 year old system. My 8800GTS won't even run the damn thing tolerably on higher than medium.

hehehehe, I hope my ultra will come into play WOOHOO...Man building PC's is fun and frustrating at the same time...

I will say this the quad at 2.4ghz is slower then a dog, but when you crank her up to 3.1 she flysssss through anything you throw at her....I'm loving this vista stuff, ultra smooooooth!
My Q6600 @ 2.4 is no where near slow as a dog. I'm sure it could be faster, but it's still in no way a slow proc
post #29 of 40
pdonket you dont know what i'm talking about if you haven't cranked it to 3.0 or higher...Trust me its way slower at 2.4, i dunno why.
My problem is that mine REFUSES to clock past 2.8ghz and at that point it's far beyond unstable. I could probably run it at 2.6, but even then it will crash after stress testing.
PD, is your the Slack GO revision model? If so just about everybody is running 3.2 - 3.6 stable on just fan cooling.

I had the same problem on my asus board, anytime I went past 2.7 damn computer wouldn't boot....Took another 20 trys just to get it to boot defaults....So as of now I never plan to buy another asus board.

I hear EVGA boards are nice for Quads

I'm waiting to see what the demo for crysis is like, before I decide on waiting for it. The MP beta was lacking compared to the 360 version
post #33 of 40
Well, my board is the ASUS P5K, I may try flashing the BIOS the most recent when I get the computer back and see if it helps.

Also, the proc is a B3, but even those are able to hit 3ghz without much sweat from what I can tell on [H]

But but but Newegg knows all.

Toms hardware was already talking about 320MB 8800GTS being a bottleneck with its low memory bandwidth.

I guess all the "smart" people that went out and bought a 8800GTX/Ultra did the right thing if they want to play this game in all of its glory at the highest setting.

I still need to upgrade my desktop at home but looks like I'll be holding out a bit longer for a even bigger price drop on the 8series cards seeing how nVIDIA might have plans for the 9series cards. Or I hope that is.

Ugh should've just gotten the 8800GTX.
