m1330 running hot

Anyon else think the m1330 is running hot?

the 8400M GS is usually idle at 65-70C, unless it is a really cool night then it runs at 55-56C.

The processor runs 45-55C idle depending on ambient temp.

But it's really the load temps that get me, when i'm encoding or playing games. The CPU is usually high 60's , like 68 or so. On hot days it is around low 70's and the highest i've seen was 77C

The video card can run up to 102C when playing games (according to NvTemplogger). Are people getting similar temps?

Has anyone tried opening the laptop and putting some high end thermal paste to see how much it improves?

Try I8kfangui and report the temps.

The CPU temps you're reporting are very normal as by Intel standards, around 100 degrees celcius is the threshold for the cpu to underclock itself so you're pretty safe on that front.

The GPU is also way under the nvidia threshold which I believe is around 130 celcius. :P

Also, if you havent, try using the Intel thermal analysis tool to monitor maximum CPU temps and use atitool to monitor your maximum gpu thermals. Usually no game or real world application will be able to load your cpu and gpu up like those 2 programs do.

I've been using that as well, same reports

Those temps should be fine. If you're really worried, I'd say to try using some AS5. It'll lower your temps a few degrees. Other than that, there shouldn't be a problem with your computer. Those temps look normal

I8kfan reports totally different temp than the atitool, and ntune which reports the same.

The differnce between I8kfan vs atitool/ntune was close to 30C, and I just stopped using I8kfan since it doesn't seem like it's reporting the right temp. Just let bios use it's own fan. It should be fine.

I would, but I'm too lazy to open (or figure out the process). The laptop runs hotter than my Gen 2 so I was basing it on the temps that the Gen 2 ran at.
