Dear Boo,

Thank you for your response. Here is the approximate breakdown of the charges for your shipment, based on $3200.00 CAD ($2000.00 USD):

This is a UPS fee, to cover the cost of collecting the funds in this manner.
COD GST TAX $0.28
The Goods & Services Tax on the COD fee.
DISBURSEMENT $12.00
Disbursement fees are charges for UPS having to pay duty and/or taxes to the government on behalf of the importer.
ENTRY PREP FEE $58.15
Entry preparation charges are a fee for UPS processing the paperwork for a package to clear Customs
BROKERAGE GST $4.91
The Goods & Services Tax on the Brokerage charges.
CUSTOMS GST $224.00
The Goods & Services Tax on the Canadian value of the goods.
CUSTOMS PST$256.00
The applicable Provincial Sales Tax on the Canadian value of the goods.

The above applies on all shipments, sent via Standard service, and valued at more than $20.00 in Canadian funds.

Please note, UPS provides free brokerage services for all shipments sent via any one of our air services (Express or Expedited).

I just ordered mine from pctorque 2 weeks ago and all i had to pay was $80 for worldwide express shipping cause i wanted it fast, 2-3 days.

Then GST when the ups guy came to my door. You would have to pay PST if you live in a province that has it though.

That's it. There is no duty or anything on computer equipment. Call canada customs and revenue agency if you don't believe me.

Goodness - that's a pretty hefty load of money to pay for taxes alone.
