where to buy new processor 1.2

friend has a 1.2 celeron (I think) HP laptop

it crashed so he took it to a repair shop--they told him he needs a new processor and it'll be $550


the whole laptop isn't worth $550

is there anyplace that sells hp processors

550 dollars LOL that Celeron processor better out perform a Centrino 1.7. Back to what your were saying well you can look at eBay; however I doubt its the processor. I think a good idea would be to sell that notebook on eBay and then tell your friend to purchase a budget Dell notebook (I1150).
