M9700 no Display after applying AS5!!!

Hi, I bought my M9700 over a year ago and its performance was EXTREMELY DEGRADED! Opened it up cleaned out the fans, applied Arctic Silver 5 on the CPU and the two graphics card and the little thing next to the graphics card. Removed the Dust Monsters in the heat sink screwed it all back up and go to turn on my computer and the screen is completely black!

I know its not the screen because I put a new one in like a month ago, my niece cracked it... To make sure it wasn't my screen I plugged in an LCD monitor I had used for the laptop before I replaced the screen and nothing. I know its not the screen, could I have broken something applying AS5? Someone was telling me how the SLI cable that connects both graphics cards is real delicate, could that being broken screw up my display, or am I really screwed.

I k normally becanow the computer is functioninguse if you leave it on you here the little windows startup music and all that. But I can't see **** and am Scared I own a 3000 dollar paperweight now...

Take it back apart and make sure the vid cards are seated properly, and everything is plugged in. Probably forgot something, or didn't get something seated properly.

I've taken apart my m9700 probably over 10 times already. Haven't found a part that is especially delicate and also applied AS5. If by hooking up an external monitor and you get no picture then it will fall down to the video cards as being the culprit. As Hammer said make sure they are seated properly and also ensure that all the screws got put back in, yes I realize that most people who attempt to take apart and put back together their laptops by themselves are methodic about the way they do things but my first time I forgot to reconnect my keyboard and nearly pooed myself because of it.

Hope it is just that your vid cards aren't properly seated, it shouldn't be your SLI cable as if that is not working your system will still recognize one of the video cards and use it's signal.

If you use too much AS5 it can cause a short in the printed circuit board around the chip. I would make sure that area looks real clean. Using a magnifying glass to see it better would help.
