For those who game, interested in Internet Security, or want a faster system-
I have done alot of research into antimalware programs. Most programs request that you download trial versons to use them, and /or pay for subscriptions to actually remove any detected malware.
Quite a few fail to detect in the wild malware, and some of the less reputable free programs actually contain spyware or malware, and infect your system, then require that you pay to remove them.

The best program for detection and removal apears to be Eset's NOD32 antivirus which includes detection of adware, and spyware, Rootkits, trojans, and worms amongst other undisirable software.
Most vendors submit their programs to organizations to be benchmarked by operating system catagories. (i.e., Linux, XP, XP Professional x64, Vista 32-bit, Vista x64) One such orgainzation is Virus Bulletin which awards the VB100 Award.
In order for a vendor to get a VB100 their software has to accomplish 3 things:
Detect all in the wild Malware, report no false positives, and do it all in default settings.

NOD32 has consistantly outperformed both Symantec's Norton and Mcafee, winning the VB100 Award. The best thing about it, It's free online scan, doesnt require downloads, and removes detected malware.
If you want a secondary malware scanner, or want to remove existing malware
then this is something that may interest you.
