Will they be more straightened out by the time I order one (november-december)?? Im considering getting a xps instead to avoid the dead pixels.

No, it will not be straightened out, ever. Dead pixels happen, no matter who you buy from. If it's that big of a deal to you, buy from someone with a dead-pixel policy you can live with. That's all you can do.

Its not a problem. Its a fact of life LCD's have dead pixels. This is yet another useless post about a subject thats been hashed to death in dozens of others. Don't let us stop you - buy the xps. You might want to check out the heat/GPU issues they have had first though.
