Not to poop on your parade, but you just dropped $4K+ on a lappy and cheaped out with the 1-year warranty?

some people sell their computer every year and get a new computer with the latest technology... i on the other hand, keep a computer about three years or longer until i feel like i want a new computer...
Not to forget that you can up it to the 3 years warranty any time in the first year..which is what I intend to do.

Congrats on the new beast!!!

As for the waranty, I also went for the 1 year and within a week I had an email with a reduced price...so I'm assuming they do this for all customers as a second/final chance to switch to their 3 year...which is what I ended up buying.

Again Congrats...now start loading her up and get fraggin!!! 8)

Upgrade the warranty!!!! I can't stress it enough. I should be getting my 7700 back tomorrow, and the money I paid for the warranty wouldn't have even covered the price of the new motherboard that needed to be replaced. Other than that, you've got one helluva rig on the way.

if this computer is anything like my xbox, it will never get red ring of death or glitch.... ever. but then again, if its like my tv thats been repaired 4 times in the past 2 months, im screwed

i guess i will be upgrading my warranty pretty soon just to be on the safe side. im glad to hear i can still do that after my purchase too.

thanks for all the kind words guys, its great to be an alienware owner!
