According to the sources, the new 65nm 8800GTS will announce in Monday,19th Nov, a week later than 780i(12nd Nov). The price is 305 USD .

It's known th new 8800GTS will have 128 SP. But still no evdience about the core clock, memory clock and shader clock. The score we have earlier already proves that 8800GT can beat 8800GTS(old). And we believe the 65nm 8800GTS(new) will be better than 8800GTX(old).

You should of waited. lotts of new stuff coming out in Nov.

I'd of kept your old pc, the one in your sig and upgrade the gpu when they came out.

It's up to you, if you want to cancel it. That ultra might be better still, but two of the new 8800 gts's in sli.... is going to kill that Ultra at about the same price.

I'm waiting, but I'm waiting for the new 45nm cpus from intel also.

A lot of stuff coming out in november is rumor...I'd imagine they will release new cards, however i've heard nothing but rumors. Two 8800Gts killing a Ultra hrrrrm, i'd have to see benchmarks on that.

My comp in my sig, has a crappy power supply, crappy motherboard, 2 different types of cheap memory...Wasn't worth holding on to.

well....when you put it that way... yeah I'd of upgraded too. Keep the ultra, be happy..

love all the self contradiction

LOL, now I don't want a Ultra....

Naaaaa, When I actually hear a release date on the 8950 or 9800 or 8900, I will unload my video card immediately, I am paying about 580, and can Prolly get about 475$ if I unload as soon as I get info on the new cards release date.

I must say, if I were in your shoes I would've waited until around november 15th, then bought the ultra from EVGA, then within 90 days (which would happen) the 9 series will most likely release thus letting you upgrade for only the price difference which would probably not be significant in comparison to the performance increase.

Yea and thats funny..According to the head Guy at Nvidia that EVGA Step Up is a marketing hype and its not a route he personally would go....With that being said I will take his advice lol.

I know of two people personally that received new cards, through the evga step up prgram. its not marketing hype. I also know of a few from other forums that swear by the stepup program.

can I see a link to the head nvidia saying it was hype please.

Personally looking at that picture I don't think that card is going to beat out the GTX. It's form factor just isn't big enough to dissipate the heat generated by one of those. Keep in mind it's only a 256 bit Memory interface as well vs the 384 bit interface for the GTX/Ultra.

So I would not be all that concerned with your purchase...

Cool, thanks Sol.

Yeah, I too have seen people over at [H] appreciate the idea of the step-up program greatly, and I love the idea as well. had I proof of purchase on my 8800GTS 320mb, i'd trade 'er in for the "old" 8800GTS 640mb

I just think its a waste....I'd rather get a XFX card with a double lifetime warranty...Much easier to unload that then a evga card that I know.

Cost me about the same to upgrade as it does you, except you only have 1 warranty and it cannot be transferred.

Also what I like about that card being released on the 19th is the fact it didn't come from Nvidia but rather "sources" I can get you a bunch of rumors explaining about the 8950Gx2 and the 9800GTX and all the stats on these boards and their supposable release date yet in the end, it didn't come from Nvidia therefore I don't believe it.

You can not believe all you want, but with 3 months of wiggle room, I would say it's plenty. I personally would rather double my power for basically no price, and no hassle, than be able to eBay it.

There are pros to both companies though, we can all pick what we'd like

Personally I think Rockin' is just making excuses because he actually just doesn't care for the name.

evga has a lifetime warranty, if you get a stepup card. that card has a lifetime warranty too. here's the kicker. evga's warranty covers overclocking also. only company to do so.

what's with evga being hated on again? lol
