Hrrrm, my 8800GTS 640mb pulled a 9800 or so on 3dmark06, sooooo the ultra should pull a 13 or so i'd imagine since its factory oc'd plus i'm going to crank the cpu to about 3ghz and mem to 900mhz.

I dunno, but that new 8800 gts on the first page of this thread sure looks nice.

=)

I wouldn't trade in my 8800 Ultra for anything Even if it meant having an additional free slot (which I don't need)

You wouldn't trade it in for the rumored 3 teraflop video card nvida is said to be making?

not a chance...Because:
#1. I'm not spending that much on a card

#2. I usually play at 1360x768 (my 32") or soon to be 1920x1200 with my new 32", which will not tax my card

#3. If I jumped on every new piece of hardware out there, even I would be broke lol.

#4. I can't seem to get my hands on any decent vaporware these days!

#5. The 4 teraflop card is right behind it!

lol, funny.

Hey Sol, how much better is that Ultra....Was it worth me spending a extra 70$ for it?

Personal experience? I love it. I have not had an issue with it. Most people I know have been able to bump that card up to 690, with the memory clocks left alone. That is a major increase over the GTX series.

I know a lot of GTX cards can get bumped up, but I have yet to see any umped that high. If you are into vmods you can probably get a bit more out of it, but that card already screams. I would suggest grabbing a PCI slot cooler ( you can see the one in my pics) that draws a little more hot air out of there.

I have not exceeded 81c on this card yet, which is pretty damn good w/ the clocks it's running at. I usually idle @60c. No artifacting or any other troubles as of yet!

I have found that 80% of people that bitch about bad cards usually don't have a clue what they are doing.... Lol one guy returned his because "every time I turned on the fricking computer the screen was blank & the card screamed like a banshee...damn POS! I returned it and just decided to get a pre built machine!" ...too damn bad he never bothered to connect the power cables to the GPU (which was why it was screaming at him)

...Here is a good place to submit benchmarks. You can see I've got 2 records, one in 06' and one in SuperPi

Sadly inexperienced people with computers try to throw out excuses other than self error in almost any situation although that's just how humanity deals with it's problems, blame everybody else for our mistakes xD
