ok so I just bought a Sony VAIO VGN-FZ140E/B, which comes with the Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

I learned that the final 15.6 Vista driver, for the Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit version, was available here:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/down...%2032&lang=eng

So I down loaded it, and unzipped the download, and ran the setup and then it gave me an error message:

"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer."

Now I went to the Sony website to see the different downloads and updates available there and there are no graphics driver updates there at all for this computer.

Not sure what to make of this.

I should mention that my desire to update the graphics driver began when I attempted to install and run age of empires III, the Warchiefs Expansion and the graphics were all messed up. I figured updating the video graphics driver might help.

I thought the driver only varies depending on the os and the chipset. I don't know what about this computer makes it incompatible with the driver?

edit: ok nevermind I figured out I had attempted to use the developers version of the graphics driver, whatever that means. when I used the correct version it worked fine.
