I'm working on this model laptop for my sister. After searching google and uniwill/ECS's website, I cannot locate a service manual or a BIOS update for this laptop. ECS's support is crap, they did not seem to know what I was talking about.
Does anyone have a service manual for this laptop? I just need to correct a loose connector inside, and after unscrewing pretty much every screw I could find, I could not figure out how to open the case completely - only the little panel on the bottom that does not give me access to the video connector.
One thing I could not determine from any info on the net, is the difference between the 258KA, 258KA0, and 258KA5 - is there a difference?
I beleive the machine also needs a bios update - it has the 800MHZ issue (it has never clocked any faster than that, neither on battery or AC)
Can I use the BIOS from the 258KA0 - the only model the uniwill website seems to list?
