HP Pavilion ZT3000 with video problem

Let me start by saying this is a great site and glad to have found it.

My HP laptop boots up but no video on the lcd or external monitor. I took it apart and reseated the video card and booted the system backup. it worked and I put everything back on and closed the laptop up and boot it the laptop. No video again on the lcd or external monitor. I took it apart again and moved the video card and power up the laptop and it worked. It looks like this is a bad connection from the video board to the Systemboard.

I have some question regarding my HP laptop and hope someone can help:

1. Has anyone had to repair the video or systemboards on this puppies?
2. Where can I buy a new replacement video card?
3. Does anyone know how to repair the components on the video.

Thanks,
Stealthman

Update:

I took a chance and bought the video card on ebay for the laptop and replaced it. replaced the bad part and turn the laptop on and it has been working for over a day now. If you get no video on this model laptop it is the video board that went south..

I am having the same problems as you. My HP pavilion laptop gives me a black screen on power up, but nothing else. I have also unplugged my video card and when I get it plugged back in the video comes back. But only on the first power up. One thing I have thought of is that there could be grounding issues present on the video board or inverter board. When the computer boots up it goes fine. One thing I have to note is that the friend I got the broken laptop from didn't blow the main cpu heatsink out and there was a lot of lint in there too. So I was wondering if the new video card is still the fix?

Try baking the card first.
