Has anyone ever had trouble with a notebook's power supply?
The mobo in my girlfriend's HP notebook was fried not too long ago. I replaced it, but did not install the CPU fan correctly and consequently damaged that processor. Fine. But I recently replaced the processor, running a stress test to be sure everything was in good working order. Everything was smooth until she tried to use it yesterday.
The difference between her using it and my using it was that she plugged it into the wall. Is it fair to say that this is what keeps damaging the components? If so, what would I need to fix/replace (other than the refried mobo) or am I better off investing in a new notebook?
