UPDATE: False alarm! I'd overlooked that a custom power management setting I'd made included the lower clock rate. [Duh!] Situation normal. Thanks!
OK, I'm hoping this is a temporary glitch due to having to run on only one 256MB RAM chip (I'm expecting a new 1GB stick in the mail any time now). But my repair shop says 'no' that shouldn't make a difference...
The machine is always on AC. The battery IS always 100% charged even when unplugged, so the AC adaptor is fine.
PC Wizard at onepoint indicated the machine intermittently switching up to the higher clock rate/processor voltage and then back again, after I pulled and reconnected the AC. This seems to have stopped now...
I can't find anything more in Power Management to try and switch. All I remember is that it used to throttle back automatically when on battery (with no option to over-ride), now it's stuck there.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Dave
