THe Card is 309 on new egg for the version that scores 10500 on 3d06...So two of those runs about 620, I only paid 570 for my ultra....Also your done once you SLI that card, I throw in another Ultra and those two gts are gonna get killed.

I think for 250$ its DEFINETLY WORTH IT, but it does in no way compete against the top dog Ultra or even the GTX for that matter with the important AA and AF Turned on...I'll wait for the new cards to come out.

This is just asking for someone to get pissed off here.

However again, comparing this card to the ultra is obviously off target, the Ultra is clearly a better card yielding better performance than the 8800GT. The GTX however is very close in comparison when AA and AF are not in the picture

If you want top performance, your going to pay for it, I still say in no way should this alter you from buying a gtx or ultra....I would buy this over the GTS 640mb, but not a gtx or ultra.

keep on defending your purchases guys. lol I don't know why the ultra owners feel the need to bash the gt because they feel threatened. and you can get two gts for less than 570 rock. nice try and yeah I guess you could go out and get 1100 dollars worth of graphic cards...

lets talk about the gt and less about the 600 dollar cards.

Yeah, I would. But I take money into further consideration

Its 620 for two of the good ones, not the low end non oc'd ones.

Again if you want TOP performance your going to pay, if you want medocre card thats 310 and your happy not having the best, then for dollar/performance its worth it for 310.

x 2 = 620

Agreed. We're here to enjoy the new card, not beat it with a bat, or at least attempt to.

Last time I checked, you can OC in your own home!

ALso Note:

SLi drivers for this card don't work...yet.

So you can't SLI these puppies together lol.

Anyways I'll leave it at my opinion, great price for performance, you get what you pay for, you want top performance you'll pay a pretty penny, you want good performance, you won't pay nearly as much...
I think there are new drivers out just for the gt I'm not sure if they are sli working. but I'd check to make before making that statement. I'm at work on my phone right now. I'd look it up but.. yeah. also why pay for an oc when its free?

the evga 8800GT cards are supposed to be Sli Ready,

NCIX has them @ 269 each.

for that price Vs Performance they can't be beat.

Still I am wondering if I should wait for dx10.1 cards expected soon. hmmm

They reviewed the game Crysis and used several different video cards and configs to benchmark the game.

The GT was only slightly lower the the GTX in all tests, and way better than the GTS 640 Meg in all tests

Its pretty damn funny how hard your trying to defend your precious ultra. Time to face it, 2 of these are better and cheaper than the ultra. SLI works fine with these cards. http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Ha...0_GT_OC/9.html http://anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3140&p=1 And even the 600mhz cards will clock to 700mhz+ on stock voltage/cooling.

Maybe you would, but any sensible person would buy the GT since its half the price and VERY similar performance, to the GTX at least, and a new king will be here very, very shortly. The GTX and especially the Ultra right now, are very poor decisions.

Well after looking over the specs and maybe I did buy a ultra to late...I have a buyer at 500$ for my ultra, plus I got a 40$ mail in rebate coming in, so thats 540 and I paid like 580 or soomething for it, so i'm going to sell, and either get 2 x 8800GTs or maybe wait till end of month to see if they release the new 9800 series.....The Ultra is freaking sweet but there is way to many on the boat for the GT for me to be ignorant and stick with it.

I just sold one of my 8800GTS card on ebay, took 10 min

So it makes the decision to buy 2 8800GT card simple
post #136 of 261
I will sell the second card when I have my 2 new GT's in hand

mmm sounds tasty

I really do hope I get approved for an 8800GT, gonna be quite disappointed if they're keeping my system for probably 3 weeks and I'll have dropped back in the pack in terms of GPU's in that time.
