Best way to listen to iPod on car stereo?

Which will give me better results for listening to an iPod Mini on my car stereo, an FM transmitter or a casette adapter? I'll mainly be using the iPod to listen to audio books in the car. I read good reviews on the Monster iCarPlay, but it is kind of expensive. How about the Griffin iTrip, or the Sony Cassette adapter?

For listening to audio books a simple and cheap FM transmitter like the iTrip will do...

The best is a hard wired stereo input jack in your dash, second is the tape adapter I've had good results with both.

Never tried the FM transmiters cause always heard theres lots of static and interferance.

agreed that is the best route to go, but i am having some troubles with this myself. i have a new jvc dash w/ aux. in, and thus have my ipod directly plugged into the dash. the sound is AWESOME, but i do have problems. first, the sound is very low, even when i turn up the volume on the ipod itself, but this doesnt bother me. second, and what really irks me, is that some songs/ tracks don't seem to play- especially ones with talking, i.e. a lot lof my beatles songs and so on. for whatever reason, it doesnt pick up, and i hear nothing until the music starts. that REALLY bothers me. eh.....

The ipod doesn't have enough power to push your car's speakers so keep it at one level all the time.

Try keeping the volume on your ipod around 75%.

And use your car stereo for all volume/tone adjustments.

Songs with talking at the begining are mixed that way on purpose it has nothing to do with your ipod or car stereo.
