They said I could send it back to the service center and give it another try (sounds ridiculous to me and I refused to do it). Now it looks like I will have to return the laptop for a refund and order a new one. This situtation has me wanting to go back to a Dell.

I really have to admit that if there is one thing that is completely turning me off right now when it comes to the T61, its horror stories like this. I mean, how can they send you a laptop that's broken or defective right out of the gate? I know things can get broken or cracked during shipping, but the horror stories on any Lenovo forum versus other forums (and I've been to quite a few of the others) are astounding. I have read post after post about customers receiving broken Lenovo laptops and the customer services'/technical supports' refusal to rectify the situation. So many people have reported giving the computers back for refunds and, a few unlucky people, have been waiting for months for the refund check. These kinds of stories are not uncommon if one does some digging, so I'm a little "gun shy" right now about placing my order. I mean, I know there's always a chance that one could receive a broken or defective problem, but the stories appear to be too prevalent at this point for my liking. I don't know what I'm going to decide to do.
