Toshiba M40-YP3 Corrupt Video card?

Thread Starter
I have a M40 laptop with the geforce 6600 go. This happened spontaneously, the computer was on my desk idling and then suddenly the screen blacked. I reboot the computer and when the Toshiba logo flashed on the screen, I could see a few odd colors of corruption on the red letters. It shows the Windows XP loading screen OK, but there is a few odd colors on the letters, kind of a neonish green corruption of color. When it boots into windows, the screen blacks and I cant see anything. Booting into safe mode works fine, as does booting after uninstalling the nVidia video card drivers.

I reformat the computer and the same problem will occur after installing any driver, including the original nVidia drivers that came with the laptop.

Even using the recovery disk does not help.

At this point, I seem to think that the video memory may be fried or something seeing as the computer works under safe mode and when the video drivers are uninstalled.
