Be sure to clean the core and spreading device with Isopropyl Alcohol (90 percent or better if you can). Make sure you spread it evenly and covering the entire core. You may also want to use I8KfanGui to monitor GPU/CPU temps. D.
Hi, Yeah,I cleaned the cores using a old credit card to scrape off the old baked on factory thermal paste and used a long neck q tip with some alcohol to clean the core till clean and then applied a small dab or two in the middle of the core and used the old credit card to spread the thermal paste.Hey,I found a new use of those old credit cards!
I wanted to ask if the paste I was using is ok?Its called "Spectra Cool'and the guy on Ebay who sells it screen name is "Greatpcstuff"and he has over 6000 feedbacks since 2001 and 100% feedbacks.Anyone has any experience using this?Is it better or similar to AS5?I have been using it for a few years with success.I have seen 12-16 degrees difference in temps.
