I wish it would allow for me to control the fans on my 5750 Also the damn thing says my HDD has S.M.A.R.T. error all the time so I had turn that balloon off

Your cpu sensor could be borked...

Well my fans speed up sometimes, so do you still think it could be hosed?

If so, am I able to get those separate? Or are they part of the device?

I think the CPU doesn’t support that feature at all. I have a 766 with a Pentium4 3,4 GHz and all the software I’ve tried (Everest, Notebook Hardware Control, Mobmeter, Rivatuner) always read 75 C.
I’ve tried on a friends laptop with the same CPU (FujitsuSiemens one) and it’s been the same – 75 C.
Is there anyone here with a 766 who has found software to monitor the CPU temp?

If a particular feature is not working with NHC then email the developer. I emailed him about it not working on my m7700 and he asked me for computer specs and some log files and sent me an email in like a week to download the newest version, he made it work for my machine with just a simple request. He seems like a very nice guy. I'm sure he would like to know about the bugs so he can fix them.

What is his email, I can't find it on his site anywhere?

I also registered for that forum, but can't post yet either

I guess I don't remember the email, but I would start with like,

admin@pbus-167.com or webmaster@pbus-167.com.

Left my 5750 on all night after 4hours of TF2. The system was reading 66dg for the CPU, got up this morning forgetting I left the laptop on all night and it was 54-55deg. Not to bad if you ask me compared to your 75.

By what the other members are saying with your system and how all temp readers are just saying its at 75 I'm going to safly assume that your system tem sensor is alright. Do what E-dirt said and email the maker of NHC (I'm about to do the same thing and see if the guy can help with the fan control of my lappy) and see if he can help you out anyways.

Other then that I would crack open my system if I where you and do a nice spring cleaning on the inside.

That helps just a bit. The best you might be able to do is post on the forums then.

Thinking about this a little more, I don't think the 766 has a working cpu heat sensor circuit in the motherboard. This was the first laptop to use desktop processors, and it was designed several years ago, so it's not surprising it didn't have all the features we see now.

Also, since it has a desktop processor, comparing temps to mobile processors won't be valid.

It's likely if you're having heat issues that your video module is failing, that's the most common failure with the 766.

Unfortunately, they stopped making these modules years ago when mobiles moved from AGP to PCIe. That means nobody has new modules. I'm not sure the module can be taken apart to apply AS5, or if it would do any good.

Is there a way to even monitor my video module temperature?

Also is there a way to integrate an aftermarket sensor? I just want this thing to work and be reliable for me
