How will it go? Crysis. - Page 5

oh it's a definite improvement over Farcry in a lot of respects. I love the AI, the graphics, and the storyline, which is done quite well.

pretty good news here...1024x768 at around 25-30 fps with 7900gsx stock speeds on medium...this game looks amazing at any rez...put it on 800x600 and crank the high...sandbox is so kick ass...cant wait till my quadro 2500m comes in!

**** yes! Thats very good news, that means my 7950 will be a little better, and 1024 x 768 would be fine for me. Im currently stuck in a place that only has 56k - which is why I dont test it all myself.

FYI they hide blood textures in the game settings menu
post #85 of 129
it runs like junk on my fx2500, doesn't help that I get mad artifacts at anything above 575 core. fack, should have left the stock shit on it.

gonna need a next next gen to fully enjoy this game!

Bioshock looks better on my rig maxxed than this shit at low res with garbage FPS.
Bioshock looks better on max then Crysis does on low? I would imagine it would lol... Are you trying to say Bioshock performs better on max then Crysis does on low?

I don't understand how you are getting that bad of performance on low. I have seen people running x850 cards on better settings than that. Are you trying to run 1920x1200?
Can only run 1280x800 @ medium on my GS, semi disappointed.

I'll take CoD4, looks just as gorgeous, without taxation of the system to all hell.
I am trying to run so it looks good Sol.

I am running it on high at 1440x900 getting about 15-20fps. but My system is locking up cuz of artifacts and 90 degree temps ..

I need to put some Arctic silver on my GPU, cuz the stock shit was way better than the manhattan stuff I put on the other day.

it is slow at that.

it looks like shit at low res.

I get 40fps on bio, with dips to 30. on 1900x1200 maxed.

Bleh being at the top of the computer industry is such an expensive job

One of the main differences between Bioshock & Crysis is Biosock=Indoors, limited textures need to be generated. It's just like Oblivion. Outside I get like 15-20 FPS (non-modded) on my Dell, but the second I am inside my FPS shoots way up. Plus I'm sure your GPU is throttling all to hell.

Crysis you have so much going on that it taxes the system quite a bit. COD looks good, but on high settings Crysis is so much more realistic. I also imagine this is still optimization being done on the engine, and new drivers are also coming out to improve performance. That C2D (1.83) is probably giving you a nice performance hit PD.

I agree, It seems tho when I scan for artifacts now in ati-tool it has yellow dots all over the top and sais delta blah blah something. but it says no errors.

I just took the rig apart again. put a rice sized dot after I cleaned off the die, and then sealed her up.

I hope this works.

btw what do the yellow dots mean cuz I didn't have them before.
That is showing areas with major artifacting. If you start to see those you occasionally need to reboot because the memory has been corrupted & needs to be flushed.

Man jsut got done playing with the level editor...Sheesh.... Creating a level would be a full time job lol.

so I am definently having heat issues? cuz I never ustu see them, now I got artifacts in games all the time. since I got rid of stock thermal stuff.

How long does it take after you put it on?

Should I start gaming right away?

thanks

also is the GPU temp monitor in 8fangui acurate? cuz the ati tool one is way higher.

also what should I look for for keeping kool, i notice that alot of people are ocing like 630/800 and stuff. I could do it no prob on that stock thermal stuff, but now with that manhattan stuff it doesn't seem to work, or I'm doing something wrong.

should I run the fans all the time on high?
manhattan stuff? I am little confused as to what you are referring to.

As far as AS5 is concerned your temps should not exceed 85c if you have good application, good airflow, and decent ambient room temps (under 80F).

you did not remove the RAM thermal pads did you? did you use a cleaner to remove all previous thermal compound?

Gaming can be started as soon as you apply the compound. Over the 200 hours the product will cure, which should reduce temps by3-5 degrees. If everything is done right you should not need to force your fans to high.

I personally use ATItool to monitor temps. It has always seemed to provide accurate results.

the ram thermal pads the blue things. are stuck to my heatsink.

so I removed them until I placed it back on.

now with slow fans. it's idling at 47 degrees.

I think this application is better than the other 2 times.

Ok here are my specs on my 9400.

Duo Core 1.83ghz
2GB RAM @ 667mhz
7900GS
100GB HDD @ 5200rpm

I ran Crysis fairly smoothly (not amazing, but certainly playable) at 1280x1024 i think it was. Textures were turned to high, Postprocessing and Shadows were set to low, and everything else was medium and it looked very good. I ran fraps benchmark from the plane jump to the end of the demo.

2007-10-27 17:50:33 - Crysis
Frames: 67091 - Time: 2774682ms - Avg: 24.179 - Min: 0 - Max: 70

No idea why min frames says zero, I must have started the test before it finished loading is my guess, but it never went below 13 according to my previous run throughs. Not bad, I'm guessing with new drivers and a few tweaks I might be able to get it running better, let's hope. But from the performance I had on the demo, I'm going to buy for sure, the suit provides for some awesome combat sequences and the game is just gorgeous.

Crysis seems like a good game

Muliplayer should be fun

I agree, however I would prefer a game I can run at 50fps with all high settings on, and a great game theme as well....over a game with a great theme, that I have to steeply degrade the settings on so that it will run tolerably. On top of that, CoD4 still has fantastic graphics and physics improvements. I'll probably play it when I get my desktop back because it'll run nicely(ish) for me hopefully. It'll have to make me want it though with Hellgate:London and call of Duty 4 calling for my attention

Just wait until the game comes out & Crysis tweak guides have been made. you already did the MP tweaks. I expect demo tweaks to be out in a few days.

true, then user optomiations will happen.

good stuff
