Does a compatible 2*1Go kit upgrade exist for the m9750 !?

Hello,
i have a m9750, I bought it with 2*512Mo thinking that I could buy a 2*1Go kit cheaper.
I bought a crucial 2*1Go CT2KIT12864AC667.16FB : got problem (can't boot; many errors on memtest)
I send it to the SAV, the SAV send me back a new kit CT2KIT12864AC667.16FB : same problem = none compatible :/.
Then I bought a 2*1Go kit CT2KIT12864AC667.0000 CT702535 on crucial site via the "Crucial Memory Advisor tool" : it seems to work, but too many bluescrenns for me and when I start a memtest 86+ test, then I've got many errors per pass (~160 errors per pass on test 5...).
So this second kit that have been sold me as compatible by Crucial is not compatible with my m9750 !!!
So I ask you, does anybody bought an upgrade kit that is compatible with the m9750 ? If yes, can you tell me what is the reference ?
Thank you =).

Does the warranty go Void if you get outside RAM.?
Yeah, I think if you mess with the RAM, the warranty goes void. So, you should check this out with ALienware first before you do anything. And you wouldn't want to waste $300 for a 3-year warranty..

Upgrading memory won't void the warranty on the laptop. AW won't support the new memory though, but the rest of the machine remains covered.

If you do have problems in the future though, they'll ask you to put the original memory back in to make sure the problem isn't the new memory.

this is the one i have

Model #: F2-5300PHU2-2GBSA
Item #: N82E16820231116

i bought mine before they had the CL4 RAM but it will cost you more...
But i hear there is a noticeable difference with the CL4 one.So it would make sense going that extra 20 $ or so.

Thanks for your answer.
But does the m9750 will support the CAS 4 ?
Because the default CAS on my 2*512 kit is 5.
Thanks
you can put cas latency 4 RAM in it.. i doubt you will see a big difference in performance from a CL5 to a CL4
post #14 of 26
Even if its only a marginal difference 20$ more is nothing IMO.
yeah if they would have had CL4 when i bought my RAM i would have gotten it....

thanks for your answers =).
I'll try to find this kit on an other website that ship in Europe.
About the Cas4, are you shure that the Aw m9750 will handle it ?
Anyone have a Cas4 memory kit on his m9750 ?
Thanks.

CL4 shouldnt have any problem being in the computers CL rating dont affect anything when it comes to installing it...this is what is meant by CL....CAS Latency (CL) is the time (in number of clock cycles) that elapses between the memory controller telling the memory module to access a particular column in the current row, and the data from that column being read from the module's output pins.so the computer will accept any CL rating... if they make a three CL which they may then you could install it...
