Try the MobileForce drivers I just uploaded (see previous post). They literally DOUBLED my framerates in Crysis. It's actually pretty playable now.

getting around 12-20 fps on my m1710 with 7950gtx, 2gb ram, 2.16ghz c2d and vista premium. That's with latest driver, a res of 1280x800, and everything on medium.

Depressing stuff

I don't get it. My notebook doesn't seem to perform as well as I hoped - its relatively new. I recently started a thread about it here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=179053 and manged to salvage some improvement (see here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/show...5&postcount=72 ). For comparison's sake, I get between 30-60fps with COD4 demo, everything on high, no AA at 1440x900 res and suffer only a negligible hit at 1680x1050. I'm also getting 30-40fps on Jericho at 1280x800 on high with no blur. PES 2008 - 1920x1200, High settings, V-Sync on, i get constant 60fps. I'd be interested to know how well other M1710 owners are doing with these games. thanks

CoD4 is optimized so professionally i love it

Seems m1710 isn't doing well at all. I tried to pick few high settings on my M90, but it wasn't playable.

I wonder how M1730's are doing w/ this.
Well nobody is being that clear on how the M1710 is doing, and im betting they arnt using the proper settings, with the new drivers as well.

Id be happy if I could play it with 30 fps on medium detail and 1024 x 768.

AA makes a big hit on the FPS, and PD, lol remember the game is not optimized completely yet.

And what would you say a nice playable resolution would be on the M1710?
well I am not registered over there & don't want to sidetrack this thread too much, but my 1st concern would be your CPU & GPU temps

I know, but I am not encouraged by the announcement that this game isn't meant for this generation of tech, but the next
post #39 of 262
Well if you look at it from a marketing perspective they had to link it to the latest & greatst GPU. There are new drivers for XP I am about to test on the desktop side. If those prove to be a good performance booster I am sure they will soon be ported to our laptops.

I wouldn't even dare try this demo on my I9300 with 7800GTX. My desktop with C2D @ 3.3 GHz, 4GB ram, and 8800GTX is hardly making it with avg ~ 11 fps at max settings, 4x AA, and at 1680x1050. It really sucks preparing for a game and paying a lot for a rig and it flops. Even SLI 8800's are having trouble with this.

It's 3 weeks til the final game is supposed to come out, I don't think there's much more optimization they can get done by then unless they delay it. It's kinda disappointing.

One thing I don't get is all the videos we've seen with the game running smoothly. Weren't those running on normal high-end rigs like mine? Were those settings not max? I imagine they had to be if they want to show off the game. Is this demo an unoptimized build of the game?
