looks generally reasonable as a source IMO.

I must say, for those of you who just got your 1730's, sorry but...*sucks for you*

Oh Now it looks like it's time to order the 1730, Hopefully this is released before Christmas. And Hopefully this outperforms my M9750.

interesting times

No doubt a Quadro version must be in the works and if your keen on the classic design go for a M6300 and order it with a quadro variant.

very good point, prob no physics card though, and non-sli in that chassis

but less weight and nice form factor

Yo, jack...why does this 'suck for' me? Shouldn't I be rejoicing since I can slam another card into my box even before Christmas? Other people on this forum were predicting Q4 2008 or something...

Pffff....yeah, I bought a $4000 computer because it was cheap and I was concerned about money. Believe me, I'm utterly thrilled they're coming out with a graphics board that will allow my puter to toast everything it its path, and I think its great that it's happening so soon on the tails of release. I was actually COUNTING on that when I bought the damn thing...my 1710 had just broken and I needed something right away that would eventually be able to play crysis & etc.

Well I'd assume most people here are a little less frivolous with their money.
Well I can tell ya I built a GTX sli setup with a Q6600 @3.2 and Crysis plays like total crap. have to drop to like 1280 x 1024 to get anything decent fps.

I would be surprised if the new 8800M in Sli will handle that game at decent res...

just because Nividia releases the cards in november doesnt mean it will be in a computer by then... it takes time to get things right just because it looks good on paper doesnt mean it will work that way...i would say it will be the first of the year before the cards will be in a computer like the 1730...

Is there absolutely no way one of these will ever fit into a 1710 no matter what?

BIOS support is the big issue. We dont have to many hackers in the Dell laptop community as far as I know.
What makes you think that the standard PSU woudl support an 8800 GTX again?
You talking to me? Theres no point in even arguing over power requirements as the biggest issue is definitely the BIOS support for now.

I haven't seen a BIOS hacker around here for ages now
