Hi folks, I guess this one goes directly to qhn, since you're the man to talk to when it comes to the Visionary 811A. To cut a long story short, I flashed back the latest original Targa BIOS on my laptop, not considering that it might not support my Newark 3400+ CPU. I assume it is only intended to run with Clawhammers, 'cos after the "update" I got a laptop that is as dead as a Dodo. It powers on, optical drive is assesed, but then nothing happens. No BIOS screen, no post.
I used to run 0F08P02E from the fizi-site on it (at least that's what i think, it's too late to check now
. Did this cos I had standby issues, which were related to ATI tray tools shared memory function, but I figured that out only later. Made the CPU upgrade a few months ago and forgot about BIOS worries) which ran fine for both the Clawhammer and the Newark, and made the Targa flash back with a Flash Iso-CD. Now I'm stuck with a bricked laptop.
Already got info on the web about where to get the BIOS-Chip reflashed, but I still want to hear ur asessment on my stupidity and want u to verify that a.m. BIOS version 0F08.P02E is the correct one for my needs.
Thx in advance and take care....
