can i oc my card with this driver using atitool?

If your card's BIOS is unlocked, then yes.
Works just fine on my Dell m1710 7950gtx sound crazy but its true

of course it is (check mi sig). i only asked, because i recently downloaded
163.75/76 from laptopvideo.com and was unable to oc using this driver.
and before i reinstall the new driver, i wanted to ask for this issue.
btw.: is there any performance gain in games over the 163.71 i'm using at the
moment?

That, you have to answer yourself. I've noticed increases, yes, however, quoting my driver thread, that "can only be determined by YOU, in the games YOU play, and the settings YOU use". In other words, the only way you'll be able to find out is try them yourself in the games you play.
thanks for the response, i'll give it a try!
btw: did you try sendspace.com for uploading your files?
it's slower, but much more convenient. and almost no
advertisement.
tried the driver, works fine for me, however, i only tried it on quake wars so far.
what is it exactly what you tweaked about performance/quality at this driver?
I played a little CS:S and TF2 last night and didn’t notice any problems. This is the only driver that has given me a higher 3dMark05 score over my original stock Dell drivers for the Go 7800GTX. Is there anyway to enable the GPU temp reading?

GPU temp reading
1. atitool
2. NVTempLogger
3. maybe coolbits (don't know, if it works with this one)
any vista drivers yet?
possible bug:
i can play almost everything nicely. but i downloaded the timeshift
demo and i just can't make it start. i click on the .exe file, a small
window opens and closes immediately and nothing happens. anyone
here tried these drivers with the timeshift demo?

I don't see how MediaFire isn't convenient. IMO, it's one of the best out there that I don't have to pay for, or doesn't have a limit on number of files one can download.

If I told you, I'd have to kill you . In reality, its simple registry tweaks, things that can be changed with RivaTuner, but also things that most people have no idea what they do. I spent a LOT of time researching what these tweaks do, and created the MobileForce tweaks that appear in the drivers.

Coolbits hasn't worked in ages. Not since the 9x.xx drivers.

TimeShift worked fine for me...

stay cool, i only wanted to know, how these drivers affect perf/quality,
that means, which advantage an user can see over a stock driver.

actually i recently used it with a newer driver (i think 163.71, when i remember right)
and it worked. at least i could oc with it. however, there were some issues, so i decided
to continue using atitool. the only reason for me trying that was quake wars causing crashes
when run together with atitool/rivatuner. now i simply load my profile, exit atitool and everything
works nicely.

...meaning, it's not a driver related issue. so there must be something else going
wrong on my computer. i think i'm too lazy to try a lot of things only for a demo, when everything else works nicely.

it's ok, as the download is REALLY fast. good for bigger files.
personally what i like about sendspace is, that you don't have to wait for your
download and watch advertisment, pop up windows, etc. in this time. they keep it simple.

With the tweaks, generally (this isn't necessarily true for ALL cases) raw maximum framerates will be lower (by 1-3FPS on average) but, because of the tweaks, the AVERAGE framerates will be higher, meaning a bit smoother gameplay, and finally, image quality tweaks that make things sharper and more vibrant on the screen. Some of the other tweaks involve fixes for certain computers, but don't affect anyone BUT those with the affected systems (one of which being a 1400x1050 resolution fix). I'd spend an hour going over all the tweaks and what they do, but you should have a general idea.

Coolbits doesn't work with any newer 1xx.xx driver. Period. Unless you use nTune (thanks NVIDIA for forcing that one on us) you can't overclock or see temperatures within the Control Panel.

As far as MediaFire goes, again, I still don't see where you're getting popup windows and advertisements, and having to wait for a download, as downloads, for me and pretty much anyone I've talked to, come up as ready in 2-3 seconds.

could not get this driver to support 1920 X 1200 resolution.

I don't know why not... Works fine for me at that resolution... Did you try 169.04?
YES! Try 169.04's! Amazing drivers for me.
