LOL WTH is wrong with Alienware? Seriously I don't get it. Before I get to my rant heres a quick "heads up" on what has happened:
After Alienware couldnt help me with my gfx glitches in XP due to beta drivers (understandable), I took the plunge into Vista.
Installed Windows Vista Business Edition, fully updated etc. Installed the official Alienware SLi drivers from their webpage for my model.
BANG, artifacts are there again: 3DMark06, Crysis, WoW everything gives me stupid gfx bugs.
I go ahead and call Alienware and they decide its time for me to ship the machine into their depot for repairs.
After them having it for 14days and I start getting angry, they finally start working on the damn thing.
One of the tech guys tells me they have replaced the Harddrives, SLi bridge/chipset whatever and are now reinstalling the system for final checkup, great I think.
I call back a few days later just to hear how my baby was doing, that tech dude tells me they have ONLY reinstalled the OS's and nothing else, I go WTF. Last time you said they changed all etc and now this? He calls around and comes back to me and says they really only changed the software and that the artifacts are gone, I go weee, send it back I need it badly.
Now here comes the ****ing situation:
I just recieved the machine TODAY, I take it out of the box:
The back thing that covers the gfx cards, memory, cpu etc is missing a screw and is WIDE open, I mean theres a gaping hole into everything. The 2HDD bays don't contain any screws and HDD1 was hanging out of the laptop, seriously, why is this happening? Is this their "Award Winning Support"?
I emidiately call and inform them of this problem
I then proceed to turn on the laptop, and surprise surprise, nothing is changed, not even the drivers or anything. Both my XP and Vista installations are the same.
I load up 3DMark06 in Windows XP, BAM gfx glitches, the same as before.
I load up 3DMark06 in Windows Vista, BAM gfx glitches, the same as before.
What the flying **** is going on here?
I just called them again to ask what they actually did with the system, the tech guy tells me they did NOTHING at all. The apparently "blind" depot dude didnt see any gfx glitches even though they are clearly visible, wtf.
The situation has now been taken to "upper management" as they say, but I have to wait till after New Years since they are closing down for Christmas and management is already on holiday.
Sorry for using words as "****, wth, wtf etc" but boy am I not satisfied
Happy Holidays for everyone and thanks for takin the time to read this rant
Screenshots below of the wreck:
Maybe not look as much, but do remember it was in transit for well over a week, don't think its healthy for advanced machinery like this to be wide open...
