My computer loses its wired network connection if the screen is closed (for clarification, when I open it back up, I cannot get online). The only way to restore the connections is to unplug the cable and plug it back in. I've tried reinstalling the driver, but the driver uninstall always fails. I've also tried different cables, a different router, turning off the firewall, and turning of virus scan.
I don't think the network is to blame since my roommate doesn't have this problem.
Specs:
- Inspiron E1705/9400
- WinXP Pro w/ SP2
- Broadcom 440x NIC driver ver. 4.60.0.0
- 2.0 GHz Core Duo
- 2 GB RAM
