welp... the pirate bay has locked my account and i cant get back in... this sucks.. but the rapidshare link is working, and the drivers are all present. they are ONLY for the m9700 alienware. most of those drivers can be used in windows 7 as well, but are meant for XP. please know that despite the CPU's "64-bit" capability, the hardware does not work in a 64-bit OS. while the OS runs, (barely...) none of the attached hardware runs 64-bit. the sound driver was the hardest to get running in win7, but it does work with a bit of tweaking.

Anyone still happen to have the all-in-one zip file that cyberkeeper1 posted? The rapid share link isn't working anymore and I'd love to get a hold of that zip file.

Thanks,

Ward

Drivers are uploading now. its compressed at highest compression, in ZIP format. super easy to access. first things first.

install drivers in this order:

1. Chipset Drivers (SMBus, SMU, etc...)

2. AHCI/RAID (this you can slipstream into a custom install of windows XP or Media Center Edition. Makes things a LOT EASIER...)

3. CPU Driver (AMD CPU Throttling Drivers. Trust me you want this to be able to control the CPU speed.)

4. Function Key Controller 1.5 (controls the media key touch panel. Also supports the [Fn] Key set...)

5. Bluetooth (then run SetupBTWDownloadSE.exe after regular bluetooth install and restart to provide the latest WIDCOMM Programs and support)

after that, install in whatever order for the remaining drivers.

REMEMBER TO RESTART WITH EACH DRIVER INSTALL!!! I am not kidding! these alienware computers are PICKY. you must restart after every driver install. and forget about BIOS upgrades as there are none.

If some of those drivers do not work, PLEASE let me know and i will personally email the failing driver with different version.

Thanks!

EDIT: Link is now being provided.

Sweet!!!

And just to clarify (for me anyway)...these work for Windows 7, right? Or are they just XP/Vista?

Thanks again for all your work on collecting and posting (and reposting and reposting) these drivers.

Can always try to install in compatibility mode. You might want also try to let Windows 7 updates picking some drivers for you automatically, like wireless per example.

Right. For your wireless it should install when you install windows 7. if not, grab the latest drivers from http://downloadcenter.intel.com and install away. Especially if you have the 3945ABG chipset for the wireless. if its 2200bg, then you have to grab it first.

Ok, I'm trying a Win 7 Pro install right now. Have a couple questions for you smart peeps.

1. I'm not planning on doing RAID with the two drives. I'm just going to use the second one for extra storage... SO... can I skip the RAID drivers?

2. I tried to launch/install the AMD CPU drivers (Step #3 on cyberkeeper1's instructions) and it said they are for XP only. Does someone have Win7 compatible drivers?

Thanks for all the help guys!

1) yes

2) You can try installing the driver in XP compatibility mode, but I doubt that you would need it for Windows 7

qhn,

I'm not sure what you mean by "I doubt that you would need it for Windows 7"...

Are you saying that Win7 should be fine without installing CPU drivers?
