Making a m1710 from a bad 9400

Hi all !

I need your comments and experiences since I am running some trouble making the comp from these part:

- A 9400's complete case (top + bottom), but with only the cpu fan because it was an intel's gpu inspi
- 9400's inverter and wxga screen + plastic
- Intel T1300's cpu (also got a T5200 for testing)
- 1 x DDR2 PC5300 1GB / 1 x DDR2 PC4000 256MB
- dell's 7950GTX
- slim dvd drive and hdd
- M1710 Moterboard
- 130w adapter

Ok now I must say some of these pieces were taken from a non working 9400 (due to water on keyboard, but after opening it I found out some cms on the mobo which were destroyed), in fact all pieces marked underline weren't from the 9400.

So I mounted all things properly together expect the keyboard (I am waiting to receive a new one, since the one I already have shouldn't be working due to the water).

But I got some problems, when I boot the laptop, I got no video (not even lighting on the lcd)
But
I can hear the hard drive and open the dvd drive, plus some leds are working green (two on the bottom right quarter of the screen) and sometimes the one on the left, on top of the keyboard.

I've try to boot without the Ram and then some leds went on (an error code I think so the ram part seems ok).

After some research, I found out that the 9400's screen could be the problem since some of them are not compatible with m1710 mobos, but I am not sure.

Now I want to know your opinion, perahps Ideas of things to test...
I could try to boot without video card or cpu to see if there is another led's error code, but I afraid it could damage the mobo...

I'am waiting for my new keyboard to test an external screen with fn+f8 (since I can do it for now).
I've also ordered a m1710's screen, but I need to know if the gfx card is bad, could it damage the screen?
Do you thing it's surely a GFX problem ? (need bios update for 7950 ? I've mod the case to fit in the heatpipe).
Or could it be the need of the second fan to boot well? or the m1710 leds parts? (whose aren't on the 9400, but I doubt it).

Please !! I need some held and advices, THANKS A LOT

If you need any more infos to help me, ask me plz !

PS: Sorry for my faulty English cause I speak French ...

Hello !
thx for the answer, but can you tell me why you think it's the CPU ??
Edit: T1300 should be compatible despite t5200 won't be,
So are you sure the T1300 is uncompatible or you think it's non working ?? and finally the no video booting is like a cpu problem?
thx

I received the new keyboard this morning
I've just made some more testing:

-I linked the dell keyboard, I am unable to do caps lock or num lock > the matching led doesn't light on .
- I tested the laptop without the gfx card and it boot exactly the same way than before
- I tested without the cpu and it power on (without hdd and dvd) and shut down few second right after, then I remounted the cpu and it does same as before = no video

So, what do you think? is it the gfx card or cpu (T1300) problem ?
